Just with the point of everything. I need to buck up and not drag myself down a route to a bad place.

What do you all do to stop the depression rising?

Have you exercised?

Failing that, bang a few cans down and sleep

Call old mates you haven’t seen in years, chat about what you used to get up to.

Youtube. Music makes me happy so i'll put a few videos on to cheer me up or at least keep my mind occupied. I will usually get the guitar out and pretend I can actually play it but with the wife at home that's something I can't currently do though. I'll also watch videos of happy sporting occassions, Coventry games from the past, Ronnie O'Sullivan best ofs, classic F1, that sort of thing. Watching something from a few years back takes me back to happier and more care free days. It's funny how certain songs in particular can invoke happy memories.

Shopping... had a lovely Sergio Tacchini jumper arrive today.... really cheered me up until I realised all the fricking biscuits I’m eating and cans of beer I’m drinking have made me too big for it... pffffffffff

Like me... keep your chins up... we have a promotion party to look forward to

I've been walking for an hour a day and found it of great benefit Pete.
Especially the way the weather's been last few days though it's due to turn again unfortunately.

I’ve joined the Tim Vine joke appreciation group on Facebook. All stupid corny puns - but it gets my head away from worrying about life for a bit.

Small things help

Have you got a garden. I find the garden (and allotment) a great place to get rid of the frustrations. Either digging...the hard work let’s you take it out in your troubles. And anything growing gives you a real lift.

Sorry to hear this Pete.
Echo what everyone has said about exercise. Any form, including walking.
I've gone from a very active job (average of about 14k steps per day) to being at home with partner and two very young children and now averaging about 3k steps since Monday.
Need to try to get out myself and exercise.
Some good suggestions above but if you own a PC, maybe try a football manager game!!!
"Football manager 2019" is a modern one, BUT, if you want something a little more simple, Championship Manager 01/02 has gained a cult following and you can download for free on the internet!
If you are on Twitter, it has dedicated support sites also (CM01/02 is its nickname)
Search download CM01/02 and you should find it
(You can even buy me as a player on that version if you use extended database!)
A good challenge is to get City back into the Prem!
Hope things get a little better for you Pete.
Another though could be to try to continue your amazing work regarding CCFC that you have started- only you would know how though....
Best wishes mate

Exactly what I do when I'm feeling low. Watching old sport videos, can be very uplifting, I find.

I was more down yesterday than I am today, feel alright again. My issue is trying to get enough sleep after being in one or two rooms all day, 8 hours and I’m banging. I’m trying to avoid drinking during the week too and then it’s looking forward to the weekend again giving you something to move towards. Get a deck of cards or games or something as well, good way to spend a few hours.

Mario Kart Tour is a free game you can download on your phone and race people on. Been having a few races a day with people form work and it's like little coffee break.

I'm failing in not drinking. No need to drive anywhere with cold ones in the fridge.

This.
It's free, easy and very effective.

Get your pace up to 100 steps/min and let those endorphins kick in.

All the best Pete.

It's not just foreign languages (other sites would be better I agree) but there's courses for IT, business management, soft skills, all sorts

Absolutely. I watched the playoff win the other day. Great pick me up.
I know not everyone is big on England games, but I watched the 5-1 against Germany the other day and the penalty shoot out win v Colombia. Cheered me up for a bit.

One thing that I am looking forward to hopefully doing...

I’ve been on here for a couple of months- rowed with a few, got on with a few- but it’s just a forum and ultimately we all have something in common. I can’t wait for Cov City to play again and have the mother of all parties, maybe meet a few faces from here and hopefully celebrate promotion in cracking style.

I find that cooking while listening to podcasts or music is a great way to escape. I shut the kitchen door, turn the speaker up and I'm in a different world. A nice cold beer on the side is even better.

I’m already finding it hard. Have done a load of gardening, have gone out for a walk for an hour downloaded golf clash which I’m starting to get hooked on and a game called club soccer director which I’m also getting hooked on. Will wash to car tomorrow.
