A few months ago there was a thread started on here which ended up with a number of posters asking about a local bands doing something to help raise funds. The poster, Willie Stanley (from The Russian Gundogs) suggested a meeting to see what, if anything could be done. Well the meeting took place and after many months of hard work here is the result.

The title of the album is a respectful nod to the original "sent from Coventry" (some of you older Sky blues will remember the iconic vinyl album that commands some high prices on e-bay) that also ties in with the situation of our football club being sent from Coventry. The idea being that we send our music from Coventry so not everything sent from Coventry is negative.
On a personal note I cannot believe the talent we have in Coventry and surrounding area as the offers of support just kept coming and coming. Over the last few months I've lived and breathed this download as it come together and the end result is something of quality and diversity that I never imagined when we set out on this journey.
From that first meeting with Kirk to calling on some old friends like Danny Ansell and Dave West (Voodoo Kings) to making news friends like the Broken Rebels this has been one of the best experiences of my life. My expectation was we'd probably get around 10 or 12 tracks of mediocre music that I'd be begging fans to download to raise funds to help bring Coventry back to Coventry. What we've ended up with is 25 quality tunes that cover a whole spectrum of music coming out of Coventry at this moment in time.
We have some wonderfully talented people in Coventry and Warwickshire who have given their services free of charge to make this happen and I'd like to thank each and every one of them.
The cost of the download is a minimum £5 donation for the album.
The purchase is through bandcamp.
Buy the album, stick your details in, and you'll get an e mail for you to follow to download the album to your PC. From there you can sync to your iTunes or music on android etc. You will also get a 44 page booklet telling you about the bands and the charities who will benefit from the download.
Alternatively, you can download the bandcamp app. Search bandcamp inc in your App Store and the album will download straight to it. (I'd recommend getting it on your PC also so you get the booklet!)
Anyway, I thought I'd post the link on here first as this is the place the album was born

EXCELLENT Great to see you guys doing PRODUCTIVE stuff for the good of the club. It's so easy for people to come on here and be cynical BUT never do anything themselves, other than send a few abusive threads. This world, especially the great City of Coventry, was built on good solid hard toil, such as these great musicians have done. I will be purchasing two. One for me and one for Joy's Xmas present. I thought I would get Tim a 'Joe Elliott garden knome' especially as it seems he may be sent on gardening leave.

Absolutely fucking brilliant clip, just goes to show what fan base we could have and how we can all stand together when the team is doing well.

Lieutenant Pigeon aren't fucking on it are they??

Sounds quite good, might have to go against my tight principles and actually do a legal download that I'll have to pay for!

Not just saying it coz I helped put it together but it is absolutely brilliant, all different types of music but after a few listens lots of tracks will grow on you, And all from Coventry and Warwickshire. I couldn't believe how talented the Cov music scene is at the moment. But it seems it's not getting the support it deserves. Putting the football aside for one minute download this, listen to it a few times then go out and see some of the bands/ artists and not just support them but have a really good night that won't cost much.

Oh one last thing, don't be put off by bandcamp. It's great to use. You pay your money and you get an e mail to download the album to your PC, sync your phone and get the album in you music, (be it iTunes etc) or just get the bandcamp app on your phone (I done it once I bought the album so you only need to make up a password as it has your details when purchasing.)
Then be the envy of your friends having the coolest tunes around, then get them to buy it too!

Search "bandcamp inc" in your App Store

I searched bandcamp and got Willow from Buffy going on about putting a flute up her fanny.

I'm definitely getting it now.
