Byline: Simon Gilbert News reporter simon.gilbert@trinitymirror.com

SKY Blues chiefs have turned down an invitation to meet fans to discuss the club's latest set of accounts.

However, club bosses say they will organise a larger forum involving all sides of the Ricoh Arena dispute to publicly discuss the wider fiasco which has seen the club leave Coventry.

Fans' group The Sky Blue Trust wanted to arrange a meeting between a small group of fans, CCFC non-executive director Mark Labovitch and club accountant Steve Brook-field to discuss the club's recently filed accounts, but the club declined the offer.

Mr Labovitch said: "What we want to do is hold a public forum to look at everything, including the accounts, if people have questions.

"We don't need one that is organised by the Sky Blue Trust.

"I want to invite Martin Reeves (Coventry City Council chief executive) and Ann Lucas (council leader) as well because I want everyone to have their say.

"I want it chaired by someone resolutely independent.

It has to be someone whose objectivity is absolutely unimpeachable.

"The Sky Blue Trust has a history of releasing extremely hostile statements about the club's owners."

It is understood the club would like to organise the forum next month, ahead of a judicial review in June which will look at a Coventry City Council loan to Ricoh Arena operating firm Arena Coventry Limited.

It seems unlikely the council would agree to take part in any such forum as they have a long stance of refusing to publicly discuss the Ricoh Arena ahead of the judicial review.

Mr Labovitch said: "I think that's disingenuous; if you tell the truth you cannot compromise any upcoming legal proceedings.

"I think we will only get a solution if everything is out in the open and above board. Any excuse about the judicial review just doesn't wash.

"We will hold it anyway. I will be very disappointed if they don't come."

Jan Mokrzycki, from the Sky Blue Trust, said they were disappointed their invitation was declined, adding: "I think he is wrong.

"We have no particular axe to grind over it - we just want to ask questions, we don't want to ambush him.

"Some of the numbers in the accounts are quite alarming and the fans deserve some answers. Our concern is for the fans and for the team. What is going on between the other parties is between them and will be settled in court."

He could at least have said they'd have one "in three weeks".

Surely not

ML said he wanted it before the JR

Plus in the radio interview he offered the forum in response to questions he could not answer that were nothing to do with the JR

Spot on, the forum that was suggested by ML on CWR is not impacted at all by the JR. All that happened was as soon as he was taken up on the offer it suddenly changed from a forum about the recent accounts to a forum about the Ricoh with all sides present. You could draw the conclusion that the change was made as SISU know there is no chance of the other parties agreeing to that with the JR pending.

That will come again on the next meeting SCG. yes a forum an opportunity to speak to the club and ask them the hard questions like how do we actually have a future with their long term plan to me is important. Currently their plan to me has no future at all.

So they've backed out of what Mr Labovitch proposed on CWR - what a big surprise. Using the excuse that they were invited by the Trust is just lame especially as it was their idea in the first place and the Trust were just offering to help set it up. Now I suppose we are just waiting for them to say they won't hold it because the council won't turn up. We don't want or need the Council at a forum to discuss for example why the fixed assets of our club have dropped to around half a million, the question that Mr Labovitch didn't (couldn't?) answer when asked by Clive Eakin - which was the reason I thought he'd proposed the forum in the first place.

So what? No one cares. All you'd get is the usual stupid question and answers no one believes.

It would achieve nothing.

Then why did Mr Labovitch propose it? As my understanding of balance sheets is limited I'd appreciate the chance for someone like OSB58 who understands this stuff (and therefore can't be fobbed off) to bring up concerns they have and ask questions I wouldn't know or think to ask.

Exactly we are not asking for anything special just for them to do what they have twice promised to do? Is that much to ask?

Stupid questions about the fact that their long term plan for the club does not seem viable.

I am glad you see that as so trivial

Grendel says no-one cares, therefore this must be damaging to Sisu. I'm all for it.

It's hilarious that the only justification given by some on here for being pro-Sisu is that they are sorting the finances out, yet they don't want Sisu to explain how they're sorting them out.

It's almost as if you don't want the bullshit bubble popped.

Think they've pretty much already done that. They know the council aren't going to turn up to something like this prior to the JR so just by making it a forum for all parties involved in the Ricoh saga they have tried to shift the blame for it not happening onto the council.

No idea why the council, Higgs and ACL need to be at a forum to discuss the accounts filed by Otium.

Fact if the matter is ML said it is a really good idea. That he really wants a forum with Mr Waggot (not sure why) and Mr Brookfield to discuss the future if the club and the finances.

Then he changed it to include the council.

Then he came out in the paper and said it is is going to happen with or without the council and before the JR.

Since then nothing.

No disrespect to Clive Eakin but he asked the right questions (sent in by the fans) ML could not answer them then Clive moved on.

At a fans forum we will demand an actual answer it is very important and had no relevance to the JR.

To be fair to Clive I think he wanted to get as many questions in as possible given I would guess Mr Labovitch only had a certain amount of time he could spare. Waggot was going to be there to discuss the footballing matters because I would guess more people would turn up if matters on the pitch are being discussed.

Yes it would be great - - OSB can give his version of the accounts and the CCFC guy can give his. People on here can applaud OSB and slag off the sisu guy and nothing is achieved.

Football is not a normal business at the best of times. Many premier league clubs will have balance sheets that are less than appealing.

Breaking news - coventrys finances are a mess and the business model is unsustainable - as has always been the case since relegation.

Yes but every other club isn't losing millions a season by playing at someone else's ground out of spite are they?

Out of spite? The only spiteful act was the shameful and disgusting rejection of the CVA by your chums down at council HQ.

Breaking news a director of CCFC stated he wants a fans forum in April.

Breaking news so far he hasn't delivered.

That is the only unsurprising thing about this Grendel

More promises not delivered on

The club should of carried on paying the rent or negotiated a discount then there would of been no administration. They had every right to reject it.

Has he the authority to organise a forum? Perhaps not, perhaps he is organising one.

Perhaps the main issue that effects us is a reduction in our fixed assets. Then again perhaps it isn't.

I assume yours was the last text read out on Friday which was pretty much dismissed out of hand by eakin.

What's rejection of the CVA got to do with the current state of the clubs finances?

What would be different from the clubs point of view if ACL had accepted the CVA?
