Not literally shouting, but throwing the theatrics with your 'you've got blood on your hands' stuff. Same with anyone accusing those going of helping to 'kill' the club amongst other nonsense, when that could very well not be the case at all.

At the start of this saga I, and many other fans, supported the NOPM campaign. I attended the protest march and was close to pitch invading at Crawley. The turning point for me was when I discovered that SISU have proved that they can fund all of this including a stadium. I dont believe they will be starved out but I do believe that other measures that the fans take can influence decisions at our club. Im not ready to attend Northampton just yet but its turning that way.

After much thought and listening to all views, opinions and weighing up facts. I've decided that the NOPM approach will not drive out SISU. My team is a pawn in a business tug-of-war and I'm the one (all fans) that's losing out on my main interest/passion outside family & work.

I'm supporting the team this Sunday and am quite sure a few hundred more supporters than the Bristol City game will take this view too.

I do support away too and am going to Shrewsbury (less contention) and would especially encourage those sticking with the NOPM conviction to come too...

Bull.
Your going because we have scored 9 goals in 2 games

some people are mistaken if they believe nopm is merely a strategy to starve sisu of funds? It isn't my main reason for nopm. To me it may or may not force sisu to sell or return to coventry. It probably won't "work". However, it will make the point that loyal supporters are not willing to follow if the team is taken out of coventry. This is both a principle and a warning to the owners that they will not get supporters to meekly follow wherever they lead.
If they can do without my £500 and 40 years of season ticket and support, good luck to them. I will not be dictated to. My support is not unconditional.

12 pages of posts. 4 weak fans are going & one maybe. Not exactly a mad rush is it.
Perhaps they are all in RFC's car.
The rest of us have principles. CCFC in Coventry.

Claiming those who disagree with you are weak isn't much of a principle.

Everyone wants CCFC in Coventry, but opinions differ as to how that might be achieved given that we are where we are. I can't imagine it is a hugely difficult concept to grasp, but some people really seem to struggle with it.

I think its the fact that we've yet to hear how going to sixfields will help the club come back.

Maybe, but are the tiny handful of people actually doing so claiming that they're righteous at the same time?

Entitled to your own opinion of course, but it has been just one single home game at Northampton.

Would you expect any campaign to work after such a tiny miniscule period of time?

Well quite, but I don't think I've heard anyone argue that by attending it will hasten the return. What some are saying is that they don't believe NOPM will make any difference.

I'm not sure. I can see the thinking behind the NOPM campaign, but I am not convinced it will work. I am still to be convinced either way.

Exactly.

If we all go, how on earth would that gee Sisu up to build a new stadium pronto? It's not going to speed things up unless there is a queue of people outside who are turned away every home game because they can't get in and we all know that is never, ever going to happen.

The way I see it is its a case of doing something that might work as opposed to something that won't work.

I'm not convinced anything will work with our owners, they were told in no uncertain terms at the forums that the vast majority would not go to Northampton. Indeed there own fan survey told them this but still they went ahead. I've wondered about this "lets all go and show em the place is too small" idea and can only conclude that sisu would turn around and say " sorry but you all told us you were staying away, but do come back in a few years and we'll see you then ". I just don't think there is any alternative to nopm, but it really has to mean nopm.
P.S won't be watching ladies footie either.

That's fair enough, can't argue with that. My gut feeling is that there are other options that might be more effective, but that's all it is.

I can't see Sixfields gates increasing all that much anyway, even if we continue winning games, so I'll guess we'll get to see how effective NOPM is in due course. Could be a long ride though!

Why not? In his view they are weak. Just as a Christian would tell me I'm weak for having sex before marriage.

It's a comparison to your own ideals. Weak is a relative state, not an absolute one.

For me NOPM is a moral argument using the only weapon I have in my possession.

Practically speaking no one can say if it will have an impact, but, assuming Sisu want two things: to build their own ground and to sell the club at a profit, the less fans they can show the harder they will find it to do either.

Ultimately we're dealing with someone who (by her own, Fishers, a judges, her company name and pretty much anyone who has come into contact with her's opinion) is as stubborn as a mule.

She may take the club to its grave on a spite mission, but I'll do everything in my power to make sure it costs her and her cronies as much money and credibility as possible.

Gotta say this is killing me not gong to the "home" games! We ve only missed one I know, but its wat I do and have done for donkeys and I mean donkeys years.
I really want to go but I wo nt. I think its me Im hurting not really sisu coz i genuinely do nt think it matters in their scheme of things. I ve been on the march I ve joined the Trust, albeit as I ve stated, before I do nr agree with alot of things they do.
I ll be going to Shrewsbury, booked thru Shrewsbury FC. I want Sisu gone but I want the CCC gone more to be honest. Too much control with veto s etc. If they were gone I think Sisu would follow pretty quickly. If we come back lets and CCC still there tell them to F$$k the stupid parking restrictions off lol
Anyway I wo nt be at Sixfields.

Well no Stu, we're talking about the future. We don't want proof we want well reasoned arguments.

At the moment the club think this move will ultimately cost them nothing. They feel that they can do whatever as City fans will always follow.

What NOPM does is hit club income, which A) discredits the FL decision to allow the ground share and B) seems to be all that Sisu have spoken about as justification for all this.

It's also the only form of protest we have what do you suggest selling out Sixfields and chanting Sisu Out and hoping Joy can hear us in Mayfair.

We need to show what an awful business decision this is. We also need to show that fans have limits or before you know it we're Coventry Wildcats playing in Warwickshire texting in when we want a sub.

It baffles me that there are so many people who have such a problem with the basic principles of collective action in situations like this.

You'd probably have been on the Suffrage forums taking the piss out of Emmeline Pankhurst "WTF has lying in front of horses got to do with suffrage?" Had the technology existed.

See you at the Preaton game?

Have fun though. I honestly dont have a problem with anyone going. But me and all my mates refuse to step foot in Northampton ever.

Fair point. If we follow blindly whatever they do then they have us over a barrel.

I know they say they can fund us for the next 3 years, but they are never going to admit how much it is going to cost them if we don't go are they! They are going to put a brave face on it all.

I'm convinced that if no-one went we would be back at the Ricoh rather sharpish. Not necessarily under the stewardship of Sisu though.

Emily Davidson actually died in front of the King's Horse at Epsom so if you attempt to use an analogy at least get the facts right.

I guess if Emily classed Epsom as her home ground then if she was at Aintree her only interest would be cheering her favorite horse on -- all thoughts of protest and principal could be rested for the day.

I reckon we'll be back at the Ricoh soon enough.
Does anyone seriously believe these parasitic idiots will build be a stadium?
As soon as any chance of leeching some of the Ricoh is gone so will they be.
I don't see them running us in to the ground through spite either. They are an emotionless financial machine, they'll drop us the second the fat cow is an impossibilty. Until then it's NOPM from me, not just because it may speed their exit but also because I don't want them sucking any of my hard earned blood.

Collective action? We all acknowledge that all sides are to blame in this argument, so whilst you were exercising NOPM principles you were at the Ricoh handing your money over to ACL.

Slightly unfair Stupot, as all profit from the game was for charity. Can't see that ACL made anything of any substance from the game at all.
