Last year was pretty late, think it was in the week leading up to the opening game of the season as I felt slightly nervous it was all going to go tits up, but it was fine

it was worse than that, tbh. we had to go to the first game on a printed ticket, despite having bought out STs many weeks before.

Just had an email asking for a copy of the grandson's birth cert/passport to prove his age!!!
He's had 3 st's and he's 7 so never had this before. I'm not too keen on his ID and info being circulated around, given all the data protection stuff, how do they dispose of it and is it secure? They say his card won't be activated until they get the proof, so I'm not sure how to proceed. any answers???

i guess it's reasonable for them to ask for proof, especially if they are tightening up on things.
maybe ask if you can take the docs in to the ticket office. just explain that you are unhappy with them being held on file unless it's absolutely necessary.

Ask them what their safeguards are?

We know the intention here, I'm surprised a local journalist hasn't picked up yet,the aim is get an adult in place of concessions ,if that is good for the club or the stadiums owner all to the good hey!

Bit of a stretch. Why shouldn’t they ask for proof of age? Don’t see an issue myself.

Do you really think they hope I’m lying my son is 8 so they can sell another adult ticket?

FOOTBALL CLUB ASK FOR PROOF OF AGE FOR CHILDS SEASON TICKET

Not much of a headline really.

Pretty sure we had this back in the mid 90’s for my season tickets.

What is? People took the piss last year. Here’s the result.

You’ve jumped through several imaginary hoops about them really wanting adult season tickets sold to make yourself angry.

We’ve had to go down and prove my dad’s PIP every season since he’s had it. Which he won’t actually qualify for this year as he’s not disabled enough.

That it's a child and Will be for a few years,if you take a child to a match it's .evident no need for proof, all clubs are doing this, it's a corporate move and I'm uncomfortable with how it's heading

They’ve had my lads as well about 3 years ago. Went down with documents which they asked for at the time.

I’ve received the email as well.

I got emailed earlier. Sent a picture of my daughters passport.

Pretty sure it's well within reason to ask

Might be wrong on this but I thought we were keeping last year's tickets (which would obviously be updated by the club) if we stayed in the same seats. They're not dated so no reason why there should be new tickets for those of us staying in the same seats ?

New cards this season are only issued to new season ticket holders and those that have changed seats. This should speed up the roll out.

It always amazes me how some fans don't know when it has been very well publicised?

Had to take Birth Cert/ID to Thackhall Street ticket office back in the day, every season, for a JSB/Junior season ticket.

Had to start taking my mate's little brother's birth certificate when i reached 18.
