Cheaper tickets are a privilege, not a right. No one can expect cheaper tickets without any conditions attached.

One of the conditions is you attend the games

you are so close.... no-one is arguing that they expect cheaper tickets without conditions.

if people do not want to adhere to the family zone conditions you can choose to pay more to go into other areas of the ground and that is precisely why some people are saying the family zone may not sell out this year.

a.) it is not much cheaper anymore and b.) admin to do each time your child can't attend

maybe it will sell out, who knows until early bird is over, but at present 20% avaliability in block 31

Well it’ll be interesting to see. Perhaps people really will pay more to sit in different parts of the ground in order to not bring their children to games they’ve already paid for

I can't resist - I should note I haven't sense checked or updated the logic in any way - so if we've reallocated or altered the way the blocks work, this could be wrong:

EDIT - I fixed this a bit - W4 and W5 were not properly designated as "unavailable":

Code:
➜ ~ python3 ~/Desktop/seats.py ~/Desktop/st1.json
⬆️ North 4,073 of 5,271 - 77% tickets sold or unavailable
➡️ East 8,512 of 9,487 - 90% tickets sold or unavailable
⬇️ South 2,203 of 2,496 - 88% tickets sold or unavailable
⬅️ West 2,069 of 2,193 - 94% tickets sold or unavailable
🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 Family 2,714 of 3,179 - 85% tickets sold or unavailable
🥂 Premium 3,240 of 3,382 - 96% tickets sold or unavailable
---------------------------------
Total 22,811 of 26,008 - 88% tickets sold or unavailable

Of course "unavailable" doesn't necessarily mean sold. And the totals excludes these areas:

Code:
🥪 Corporates 3,271 of 3,543 - 92% tickets sold or unavailable
❌ Unavailable 1,588 of 1,591 - 100% tickets sold or unavailable
😭 Away 2,625 of 2,625 - 100% tickets sold or unavailable

For anyone who wants to correct my logic, here's how each "area" is constructed:

North – N26, N27, N28, N29, N30
East – E13, E14, E15, E16, E17, E18, E22, E23, E24, E25
South – S10, S11, S12
West – W35, W1, W1B, W2, W2B, W3, W36, W37
Family – N31, N32, N33, N34
Premium – E19, E20, E21
Corporates – DB, WA, WB, WC, WD, WE, WF, WU1, WU2, WU3, WU4, WU5, WU6, WU7, WU8, WU9, Dining Upgrades, Lounge Passes, Season Card Replacement
Unavailable – PB, S9, W4, W5
Away – S6, S7, S8

Nice one. Those %'s feels about right looking at the map. And it looks like those on the waiting list will take us over the 24000 cap.

I presume being on the waiting list gives you a window to buy before general sale? Or do they put reserved tickets in your account?

I fixed it a bit - I was wrongly including blocks W4 and W5 which are not available presumably for the away fan safety buffer zone stuff. I also wasn't including the Balcony & Mahou lounge things even though they're not selling much.

And this is still not fully accurate because if you take the zones available according to the map - it adds up to more than 24,000 season tickets at 26,008 - so presumably some areas within these blocks will never actually be sold for season tickets. I guess it depends if they're blocking them out now, or giving purchasers free choice and closing off the sale manually if / when they hit the magic number.

Right now it's at:

Code:
🍻 Lounges - Balcony & Mahou 207 of 426 - 49% tickets sold or unavailable
---------------------------------
Total 23,018 of 26,434 - 87% tickets sold or unavailable

Excludes these:

Code:
🥪 Corporates 3,064 of 3,117 - 98% tickets sold or unavailable
❌ Unavailable 1,588 of 1,591 - 100% tickets sold or unavailable
😭 Away 2,625 of 2,625 - 100% tickets sold or unavailable

Does anyone know if the seats that currently show as temporarily unavailable will become available when the waiting list opens?

yes i think they do. any pale blue dot on the map is currently free. a season ticket holder may move into it and free up a different space but i think most will still be free when they go back on sale next week.

when i called the ticket office they said approx 900 had requested to move. idk how many of those they have already got through.

Apropos of nothing, when do we get to give our stands names again? Surely there’s some sponsorship money being left on the table there. Or we could rename the East stand the Gustavo Hamer Memorial Stand

yes, they emailed me y/day just before closing saying the seats i wanted were not avaliable and to contact them again if i still wanted to move... i had also given alternative seats/areas to move to but they must have not read that.

i was thinking they would call so didn't even check my emails until after the ticket office was closed. i called them as soon as they opened this morning and asked to sort it then and there as they had already got to my email.

i would just call up and ask them to do it over the phone... didn't you email in about the same time as me? if they say no you are no worse off

It's mental to think that we will have sold 24k home tickets for a league match only a handful of times in 50 years, and now will have that many season ticket holders.

Spoke to ticket office, apparently there are only at emails from 10.25am yesterday and are working through them in time recieved order. Mistake I've made is sending a 2nd email, replying to my first, to give them more specific details on seat location after the map opened up. Now they are taking my 2nd email as the point of entry into the queue!

That's pretty poor from them about putting you further back in the queue. I also emailed twice. Once just before you with the general area and then again closer to midday when I found specific seats that I wanted. It was the second email they responded to (which basically said seat you wanted is gone goodbye).

If they are resetting each time I should still be waiting.

Yeah it did sound like a cop out excuse on the phone. They said they couldnt find my first email, I told them that's becuase my 2nd one replied to my 1st - meaning it is an trail as such. But wouldn't have it and I'm now well down the queue.

It’s obviously overpriced- it doesn’t help matters that it’s stuck in the corner though!

The seats are central tbf… the lounge itself is to the side.

It was a good experience as a one off, but much prefer being in the stands with fellow proles.

On first glance it does look like the increase in Adult prices in the FZ has knocked the amount of families renewing:

‍‍‍ Family 2,714 of 3,179 - 85% tickets sold or unavailable

450+ seats have become free in there. Hopefully a good chunk of the waiting list & general sale will take those spaces.

Most seasons I consider moving to one of the lower end hospitality offerings but the value just isn't there. OK as a one off special occasions but hard to justify for every game.

Also think some of the newer offerings they have launched are all a bit similar.

Yeah echoing what others are saying the value isn't really there with the Mahou Lounge unless you're committed to drinking 10+ pints at every game.

As a concept I don't actually think it's too bad but really they need to bring the price down to make it more appealing and feasible to people, and probably by quite a lot.

Mate didn't renew as not in financial position to do so for another few weeks....move my lad into his seat. My lad never sits/stands where he should do anyway so it covers my mate fortunately
