I am sure I have heard something like this before with ticketmaster. Something to do with the fact that all home games are released for sale before the start of the season - and because of that it becomes difficult to offer season tickets as availability of a seat that has not been purchased for at least one game during the campaign is unlikely - but of course that shouldn't apply here, where there is plenty of availability and I cannot see many ticket been sold way in advance. Hopefully common sense will prevail.

We have surrendered so much control to ticketmaster. The fact that all games are on sale now makes the prospect of any ticket offers or price reductions through the season unlikely.

Should never have switched to them. We now have a crap away ticket service, increased pricing and processing fees, no pay on the gate, no home ticket office. The old system was OK. The only issue were that it did not work on tablets/phones and that it couldn't handle high demand situations. They could have fixed that though. We have now outsourced ticketing and merchandising. What next?

Haha, been in the same seat every season at the Ricoh so I'm sure I will already be on your blacklist!

Very poorly worded then.

That should say 'season ticket sales will be temporarily suspended after the 5th August.'

Sales people always do stuff like this & then pretend normal practise is somehow a special favour.

Just seen a tweet from the club to SBT (is that Nick)

Very surprised & odd move not to offer pro rata (I assume I've read that right that ST on sale til first home game then no pro rata after?)

In which case my original thoughts are wrong and people are right, that's insane!

Ludicrous.

What with potentially selling another player from our already alarmingly depleted squad, and very limited inbound transfer activity, I was planning to wait a few weeks until I committed (like always).

What with this stupid lock in, I'd say it's unlikely I'll commit at all now. That's mine and probably a good thousand others at least that would have given the club their money.

Utter idiots.

Apparently according to somebody on social media, they are doing it so they can take as much money as possible! Makes sense.

Can't make Shrews and Bury games so was buying STs before

By doing that though, they'll be excluding a large about of people, so won't be making as much money as they could. They are literally turning down free money.

There's already enough people on this thread now probably not getting one, which could have paid one of the lower paid players for a week or two.

Whoever is in charge of marketing needs to have a good look at themselves.

Had another reply about match packages.

I wonder if they are just going to bundle up games as match packages instead so people can buy in bulk.

Don't fancy being a match package wanker. I'll probably just do a few away games now instead.

From the sounds of it, they're doing packages instead. Maybe they're planning a 22/21/20 game one after the first few games - so not a 'season ticket' per se?

A midweek one would be good too or a weekend game one.

Odd decision. Although with the option of finance this year and the match packages will it make a huge difference? Sure we'll get half season tickets so anyone who suddenly decides they want one can just get a match package and half season ticket.

Because I travel to games STs would ensure my custom whatever happens, however without
Them you are far less likely to have the inclination to get up and go.

Very true.

So many think about going or plan on doing so, but then decide not to. ST's in money in the bank.

The club should be actively encouraging fans to buy season tickets. Common sense.

All they need to do here is to say the current plan ends on the 5th August and then from 6th (or whenever) a new ST offer scheme will be in operation.

Don't they usually stop for a week or so when the season kicks off and then they do the pro rata type thing so it goes down in price every couple of weeks?

Good point. But the press officer whose job it is to release and monitor publicity around the club, have they confirmed this?

Whatever people hypothesize about what will happen after August 5th, it's at best a massive communication own goal and at worst another bollock dropped that will piss fans off and lose desperately needed revenue.

PS: Now this is something the Trust should be demanding clarity over.

Got my season ticket this year so not an isdie for me.
The problem I see is I took fair few fiends and work colleges last season they all paid on the gate, that will put the paid to that now a few more wild lost

I know you can que at the ticket office etc but you need to make it as easy as you can or some people just won't bother.
