Coventry City defender Dan Seaborne has agreed to terminate his contract with the football club by mutual consent.

The 27-year old made 24 appearances, scoring one goal, for the Sky Blues last season after making his loan deal from Yeovil Town permanent in January 2014.

Dan leaves with the club's best wishes for the future.

Well that's odd.

Need at least a couple of defenders now (unless Urquhart is going to get some game time)

This is very odd! Surely have someone lined up? Pressley mentioned him a few times at the fans forum last night!

Well that explains why we're looking for a CB. Let's hope it means we have someone lined up.

McLean in for Seabourne isn't exactly a step up

He wasn't going to get in ahead of Johnson and Webster and probably wants regular games so asked to leave...

GK - Burge, Allsop

DEF - Clarke, Phillips, Willis, Webster, Johnson, Pugh, Haynes, another

MID - Swanson, O'Brien, Fleck, Thomas, Daniels, Lawton*, Finch*

ATT - McQuoid, Tudgay, Miller, another, Thomas*, Maddison*

*I think that these will step up if we have an injury crisis

It's not a terribly small squad as long as we get the other defender and attacker that pressley wants with at least two players in each position.

Bad news really although seaborne not being great. Not exactly we can or afford better.

He was a decent defender always tried and I've certainly seen worse.

We need a major cb and striker signing. Maybe with a Ricoh return

Reda Johnson was a free, do you think he might be better than Seabourne?

That is a very small squad with alot of untried kids and multiple sicknotes. It's smaller than our squad that ended last year that nearly got us relegated because of how small it was.

We nearly got relegated because we sold Clarke and the replacements were shit as were loan players like Robinson and Prutton. Not because of the small squad.

Didn't see that coming either. However was not really convinced with Seabourne. He may have joined us for regular football and may have a couple of players in front of him now. It may be his choice to terminate his contract and take his chances at another club.

See him a a replaceable squad member rather than an essential cog.

Totally agree our replacements were rushed because we didn't have any time and needed bodies,I think we will be fine,I'm pretty sure mclean will sign as he has been training with us and another striker would do us I'm quite happy looking at our team,we could actually do something this year !!! #PUSB !!!

Aidan McCartney ‏@aidanmccartney 3m Possible Brian McLean, who has been training with #skyblues after leaving Ross County, could be Seaborne's replacement. Fits the bill. #pusb

Maybe he's heard that we are coming home and doesn't particularly fancy the idea of playing in a state of the art arena every other week

Unexpected. What wages was he on? Is this another case of getting rid of a top earner so SP can bring 2 players in on smaller wages?

No I didn't mean a transfer fee. Your mistake there.

Whose wages would be more seabourne or Johnson? And this would be linked with who is the better player.

I doubt he is a top earner, we signed him from Yeovil who didn't want him so I can't imagine he would have been on much there.

More like Pressley just realised he is crap.

You said we couldn't afford better than Seabourne, I pointed out that we can and have. No mistake.

Are you kidding me? Although you missed off Coulibaly, you've shown that we are short THREE senior midfielders (one winger and two centre mids), another striker and at least one CB. And just under 24 hours before the new season begins again...after the initial glut of signings, transfer activity has tapered off worryingly - our squad is far too small to start the season, never mind end it - we'll have a team full of teenagers by mid-November if we're not careful.

I agree we need to strengthen in centre mid
