I think it's easily one of the best. grounds right in the City Centre loads of good pubs on the way from the station, stayed over last year good night out.

Why do you hate it?

Being in the centre isn’t always good. Took an age to get away from there after the game. Probably only benefits those who are on the train and/or going to pubs.

Shite otherwise.

Agree with getting Sheffield Utd out of the league for their customary one season, have money and were 3rd best team.

haha what. How are you rating an away day on if it's not those things, how comfortable the seats are?

If you drive to away games the only thing you care about is distance and where to park, hardly the best barometers of a good away.

Something I've noticed is that your emphatic pronouncements on who's going to win a football match invariably turn out to be wrong.

On the basis of this, I now fully expect Sunderland to win.

For purely pragmatic reasons, I want Sheffield United to not be in the division next season.

It’s not me rating the away day is it. It’s me saying central stadiums aren’t as great as often made out.

Never had a good experience there. Always see trouble, which isn't great when you have kids with you. It seems to attract all the coke heads if you go by train and a nightmare to get away if you go by car. Crap away end too. On the other hand I do enjoy going to Sheff Wed as a much better experience in the town centre beforehand due to their fans not really drinking in the centre. For me its a Sheff Utd experience rather than a Sheffield place itself.

Kinda agree. If you're on the piss with your mates its great but if you take the kids its a bit of a nightmare.

Sunderland fans are absolutely seething whenever a pundit comments that Coventry were the better side, which i've seen plenty of. Banging on about game plans like it was a masterstroke to get MvE to play in their striker at the end of the first game and an even bigger masterstroke to lose that lead at home and go to extra time.
I do honestly hope they get mullered and we go back to how it should be next season, us taking a minimum of 4 points from Sunderland .

If 'seething' means 'couldn't care less' in Coventry you could be right ...

... in reality Coventry weren't better at defending or scoring, 5 poor attempts on target over two games home and away.

No great saves, no clearances off the line, no one-on-one's, no last ditch tackles, no fractionally offside goals chalked off, no penalty shouts, nothing. If hopeless shots, endless crosses and passing from Grimes to Rudoni makes you better then fair enough.

There were two tight games, that could've gone either way, but Coventry's game plan was no better than ours in reality.

We failed to stop two hopeful crosses, works both ways.

Le Fée created our first goal at Coventry and the winner at the SOL, you just couldn't stop them because the defending wasn't good enough. We also have more decent chances tbf.

Bellingham will probably go for £25/30 million at the end of the season, if that's gash fair enough.

I don't think anyone could sensibly argue that Sunderland weren't fortunate to progress.

Not outrageously so, but still fortunate. Their performance at our place was very good; they did a job, but it was a performance that was looking for a draw. The victory only came because of a bad error.

Second leg, they were poor, and were lucky to take it to extra time. There may not have been a big save, but there were lots of little moments when it just didn't quite drop for us; that wasn't down to Sunderland's game-plan or good play. They were also completely dominated for the majority of the match.

I agree our game plan was no better, though. It was very tight, but I think play that second leg again several times, and we go through more often than we don't. I thought we were very good, and unlucky not to go through.

Still, though, we didn't, and ultimately a mistake in the first leg (and going to sleep for a moment in the second) cost us, and that's on us, really.

Even your own posters agreed it was onside tbf, the defender couldn’t have known either way.

It was one of the few moves of any quality from both teams.

Do you really think he'll go for that much?

Don't get me wrong, he's a very good prospect, but I don't think he's worth that much yet personally. He's definitely got Premier League potential. Think a move abroad like Jude did will suit him. Be surprised if he went for more than the £20m-ish we got for Gyökeres, who was more developed at that point (albeit older). Still think £20m would be a good return for someone you got relatively cheap.
