As Sod's law would have it I got the reply just now:

Hi Andy

Thank you for your email.

Minutes of SCG meetings are not verbatim and in hindsight, I have to admit that the published minutes do not portray the discussion on this point as accurately as perhaps they could. Jonathan, as always, asked for agreement to the minutes from all SCG members before they were issued. I hadn't realised how the wording on this particular point would be interpreted when giving my agreement. Several of the CCLSC committee and other CCLSC members have made similar comments to yourself.

A question had been asked about the SCG having a thread on Sky Blue Talk and this was discussed at the SCG. My particular caution, which I raised at the meeting, was that the SCG and in particular Jonathan, had been given a lot of abuse in recent days and weeks on the site and we already had a feedback mechanism via SCG members and the SCG email on the ccfc website. Your assurances in your email about the moderator have unfortunately, not been in evidence in my opinion, particularly where Jonathan is concerned in recent times.

There was clearly no intention of censoring questions by me or any of member on the SCG. You will see that we also added that the SCG should use a single question thread and also put its email address on GMK.

Andy, as a CCLSC member, if you have any specific questions for the Club please direct these through me, as your representative, and I will raise these and feedback any responses on your behalf.

The Sky Blue Trust board members seem to take and put up with the abuse and just get on with it, pretty certain none of them like the abuse they get either

As far as I know there is no separate thread established to be moderated is there?

I am more than happy to create a sub forum for SCG / Trust stuff which is moderated by us (ie we filter out the crap if there is any) but there is no point in doing it if nobody will read them or reply It was like when Brody said he would reply to things, there was a moderated forum and I set him up an account but nothing

If SCG / Trust or whoever want a section for serious stuff I am happy to sort it for them.

It would be a moderated forum, only actual points / questions / thoughts would be visible. All posts would need to be checked before they went live. It is quite clear they don't actually know what is meant by the question.

Are they putting their email address on here too?

I really don't get why the club / fans groups don't see this as a resource. 5,992 members (Let's say 5,000 actual city fans), that is their email address. How targeted does it need to be?

Jan has posted on here that he is happy for people to send him questions for the SCG and he will raise them so why not go ahead and create a 'questions for the SCG' thread and Jan can then pick them up (and ignore abusive or otherwise inappropriate ones)?

Yes I know you are Nick and I agree. I am sure the Trust are ok with how things are, and read and pick up points from all threads

Perhaps someone could/should explain to them what moderated means.

I think the Trust do actually use SBT etc as a resource and do pick up fans feelings and questions from it and many other sources. They also have to balance it out and not base it on one particular forum or community group

He clearly misinterpreted it. Although it isn't hard to put what he says to the test, send in a question you want to see asked and then see if they do so. Which I am inclined to do.

I don't really understand how representatives can believe they can hide from abuse. Abuse is criticism whichever way you look at it and if they feel it unjust they are not doing a good job explaining their reasoning or standpoints. As they are representatives their job is to 'represent' - if they don't they will be seen as corrupt. So their job is to communicate and advocate the thoughts and suggestions of those they represent and to then feed back any responses. For that to be efficient they will need all the platforms available - and as I believe this forum is by far the most active and also the forum with the largest population I fail to see how they can justify not using it.

I agree, the Trust do use it People like the Trust, SCG, the club should be using sites like this, Facebook groups etc to cover the range of city fans I think.

I can agree with the criticism bit, if somebody is constructive then it can only help. Although "you are a dickhead" isn't constructive at all, whereas "I don't think the SCG is very good because......" is constructive and can only help.

I agree with that. Comments like that are too uncommon on this (and probably any open forums) and a moderated thread/sub-forum would at least help eliminate posts that offers nothing but abuse.

Abuse or Criticism?

I dont doubt that there will be the odd name caller but if its moderated whats the problem.

Nick, could a sub forum be started where it is open for questions say Saturday to Tuesday, it then spends Wednesday in limbo while mods remove any abuse and duplicated questions, leaving the SCG 2 days to reply where only SCG members can post on the Sub forum? It might be over complicating the issue but if thats possible I struggle to see how the SCG could say no.

There wouldn't be any need to remove any duplicated questions or abuse as the sub forum would be moderated (ie Posts would need to be manually approved by us before going live)

Bang on the money Godiva
Seems they need a thicker skin
criticism /abuse whatever you want to call it goes with the territory
Up to him/them to prove us wrong rather than adopt the same childish approach as Fisher/Labobitch etc by recoiling and only communicating taking views from one end

They get 'abuse' on here and elsewhere because of the way they conduct themselves when they are supposed to be our representatives. How about instead of just hiding away they all sign up on here and justify their actions. If they believe they are in the right and acting in our best interests that shouldn't be a problem.

Set the thread up Nick.

The trust can take the most popular and sensible questions to the SUPPORTERS CONSULUTATION group for us

Thanks Jan

Yeah a lad called Andy(real name ,used to come on and seek questions ,offer a debrief afterwards ,Not the minutes though as whoever

couple of days and I think the Trust used to post them both on their site and on here .

Andy left as he felt the focus had shifted and It was expanded to the point of being so diluted It lost the point .

Couple that with the club Issuing them through their site for approval and the two week delay reflects that shift In usefulness and

openness IMO.
