Yeah, yeah…whatever. “Stood up for 5 seconds”…like you weren’t erect anyway. You protest too much.

Speed little Cal, like Jodi on the wing
Over the half-way line
To score for the man whom the fans call our king
Lest G insist that he resign

That was a fucking foul!
Adi Viveash roars
But the referee gives a cold staaaaaare

It doesn't hurt anyone but we are debating calling for some kind of support for the OP

There once was a man from Bengal
Who went to a fancy dress ball
He went just for fun
Dressed up as a bun
And the dog ate him up in the hall

There once was a cripple called Jodi,
who would have been shot if he was a pony,
he goes down in pain,
his knee has gone again,
signs a new contract does Jodi.

Nick - think you are going to need to combine the poems into a single thread. The effects of that England performance and no City signings has taken a toll overnight.

There was a CCFC message board,
Frequented by an unsavoury hoard,
Some turned their hand to prose,
While the majority chose,
To put them on block and ignore 'um.

Edit - just realised that last line doesn't rhyme

Could you not think of a word to rhyme with obligation?

All the lady apes ran from King Kong,
cos his dong was unspeakably long,
but a friendly giraffe took a yard and a half,
and exstatically burst into song.

Embarking the dream again.
Here I go again.

My friend Billy
Had a ten foot Willy
And he showed it to the girl next door
She thought it was a snake
So she hit it with a rake
That'll teach young Billy Gilmour

I had to work hard at this adaptation, which I simply call 'Robins'.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Fisher and Seppala
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the City and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be the Man, my son
!

There once a forum called Skybluestalk
Whose members liked to go for a walk
The poems didn't work
As some liked to shirk
I like cheese

There once was a man from Coventry
So his name turned up in every transfer thread until he retired.
