Afternoon chaps,

Long time no speak, hope you all had a nice and peaceful Christmas. I've been inactive for a while on here and it's great to see so many new faces on here and of course the old regulars, so welcome.

Now to my post I was having a quick look through the Forest fans forum after the sacking of O'Driscoll and happened to see a great idea they had thought up...Their forum sponsoring one of the players for a whole season and I thought that's something that we could all help to achieve on here.

This is what you get when sponsoring a player:

"Pick you favourite Sky Blues player and get some great benefits through a season-long sponsorship!

What do you get as part of your sponsorship package? Well...

Your company logo on the Players' Sponsors pages in every matchday programme across the season
  • Invitation for two to attend a CCFC training day to include lunch with your sponsored player
  • Presentation of a signed shirt by your sponsored player
  • An Executive Suite for 12 to any league match*
  • Logo on digital scoreboard at all home matches
  • Company logo and click through on www.ccfc.co.uk to your website
  • One free use of an Executive Suite on a non-matchday for up to 12*
Purchase your Player Sponsorship package for just £1,000 +VAT
*Subject to availability

For more information on any of these opportunities please contact the Commercial team on 0844 873 6540 or e-mail commercial@ccfc.co.uk"

My old mans' company used to sponsor Thornton then Westwood when they were here and let me tell you the Training day and Lunch alone are a truly great one of experience, meeting all of the first team players in person and getting a signed shirt makes it something to remember for those involved.

On an advertising side of things its also great for the forum to truly get the name out there as the logo would appear on the scoreboard at half time and next to the chosen player in the program.

The only way this would possibly work/ funded would be through donations of all the forum members but i'm happy to other suggestions.

Now this is how i think we could work the chosen two who go to the Training day and meal etc....

Nick would be one of the two people chosen for his ownership, hard work and upkeep on the site over the years and the only fair way for the other person to be chosen would be to be chosen from the other members in the shape the annual 'SBT forum poster of the year' which is held every pre season.

The other gifts such as the free exectuive box for a maximum of 12 personal will be chosen on who gave the largest donations to the sponsorship.

And Finally....

What player to choose?

This will be decided on a open poll on here and the player with the highest vote will be chosen "Please note existing sponsors of players have the first pick on whether they want to renew their sponsorship contract so every player might not be able to sponsor".

I hope this all makes sense and seems like a tangible plan that really is worth doing, any ideas or suggestions please feel free to comment and here's to a prosperous new year and a promotion for the skyblues!

Don't see the point tbh. If Nick is a bit short of cash or whatever, I'd happily pay a fiver a year to use the site.

Lunch with your fav player ?

In that case, Freddie Eastwood please...

The lunch alone will pay for the sponsorship
