Has anyone ever thought of purchasing a SBT box? Prices start from just over £9k per season including VAT. For a 12 person box this is approx £35 per match. I know that Nick has got some money coming into the site from sponsors of the prediction league and this could be added instead of small prizes.

Good idea or bad idea?

There is no money coming into the site. Just prizes donated from the Prediction League and the single google ad which goes towards the web hosting (well, a fiver a month or so of it)

It would be very hard to find anybody to give 9k to get a Corporate Box.... Good idea but a non starter!

Good idea if you can get people together for it, who is going to outlay the initial 9k though? if you split it down and people paid for a certain amount of games it may work i suppose

Would people want to pay more to sit in a box with other members of SBT?

I don't think it would work but if there was a Groupon Style offer on one week it might with everybody getting a couple

They did a Groupon last season and the corporate area was heaving. Can definitely see it happening again this season.

I concur. Seriously though if Nick wanted to attend 2 matches is £70 really that much to stump up at the start of the season? If Otis wanted to attend one match £35. You could book your place at the start of the season when paying.

What if everybody wanted to go in there against Leicester? Who would pay the 9k up front? Who would organise who goes in? Who would be there before every game to get people in?

Is a lot of work too!

The person that gets their £35 covered by the rest for organising it. First come first served basis. All spaces must be booked and paid for before the box is bought therefore the organiser does not lose out.

It aint that complicated really if there is enough interest. It's a bit late for this season now, but if half season deals are available it could be possible from the midway point.

Who takes all the money? It is a good idea but the logistics won't be as simple.

What is 3 people say they will go and don't turn up so everybody has to pay more?

No because they pay before the season starts. So the only people who lose out is the people that can't go. They may want to offer their place to someone else at full or discounted price as suits them.

Who looks after the money? What stops somebody from running off with 9k?

You pay the club up front, before the season starts. No-one holds the cash with a chance of running off with it. Payment would say be made to the club on 05/08/11 so all money would need to be in the account of the payee by 04/08/11.

It would even be poss to set up a SBT bank account with at least 2 people required to sign to withdraw.

It wouldn't be as simple with legalities etc. Even so the "payee" could still not bother to pay for it.

I wouldn't want to transfer a random person money. You are welcome to approach the club to see if they could do anything though

I might just do that. See if we can't arrange a half season. If people can vote whether they would be interested first then I'd appreciate it before I make Official enquiries.

I'll be looking into the option of paying the club direct instead of having to put trust in anyone.

I would trust a random member on here more than the club

Bit of a pipe dream i'm afraid. If the site was pumping tens of thousands of pounds a year i'm sure Nick would look in to this as an option.
I have been in the boxes at the ricoh A few times and its a great day out.

Good idea as a one off I would go for that, however I prefer to be in the mix with the real fans, swearing and cursing ;-)
