One player who I'm sure will feature on here made his debut in the league in 1965 and his final one in 1991.

Must be. I just learned that he went on loan to Seattle Sounders, where Andy Rose has come from. Also played for another 3 years non-league until 1994. Imagine playing from before England won the World Cup to past the creation of the Premier League.

Feeling very sorry for the 90s fans. The 70s fans team would crush the other two if you add Fergie and Wallace or Stein

All have our own opinions and he was good for the Championship but I'm struggling to work out how Wise gets in ahead of some of the centre mids we had in the Prem.

I guess you could say class is permanent CJ
He was 40 and had been semi retired when he came to us Every other player in the squad grew 2-3 inches in his presence
If we'd have had him a whole season we'd have been back in the Prem IMO

Biggest impact player I've ever witnessed on the club!

What he did that second half of the season in his own performances and for the players around him was superb!

Even Michael Doyle managed to play football whilst he was here! Wise did all the nitty gritty stuff as well as of being the best footballer on the pitch & allowed others to focus and play.

I have to say that surprised me as well. He wasn't here very long and I also thought the fact he went to Villa would count against him in some posters views.

This whole poll is skewed by the fact that most people on here never even saw the great players of the past. Hold this same poll in 25 years time and no-one will mention Dublin. George Hudson will be thought of as Clarrie Bourton is now. No-one who ever saw him will still be alive.

Can't argue with that can you picked most of the 1st Xl and had forgot George Boateng showing my age but find it amazing Ian Gibson and Roy Barry don't feature especially Gibbo fantastic player

I'm well happy with that. Nearly all my choices are in there so that gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

I'd sort of forgotten how many great strikers we've been blessed with over the years. Nice to see all the old names come up again.

It is easy to forget how many great players we have had over the years. Our biggest problem has often not been the quality of the starting eleven but the lack of strength and depth.
