Morning All,

Grimsby fan here in peace!

Planning on making the visit on Saturday, and after some local advise on parking, pub before hand etc.

Don't ask me why i am visiting, despite being 17? games without a win, the new manager is struggling to get the useless bunch of players we have to do anything!

Fully expecting a 4 or 5-0 hammering

Thanks!

I hope it is a 4 or 5-0 hammering, although I can't remember the last time we did. 3-0 away at Luton was the last decent win I can remember.

Can't advise about away pubs, most of the ones I knew are shut down.

Hen Lane Social club is pretty good. Nice pint, food and the locals are friendly enough. Leave the car and 10 minute stroll to ground. It's on FB.

I'm with Nick on this. Unfortunately I can't see us winning by a significant scoreline. Although we're playing better as of late, our finishing and creativity could still do with serious improvement.

I will be happy with 1-0.

I certainly can't see a thrashing either.

The last time we scored more than 1 goal in a match was 21st november.
And we have only scored 12 goals from open play this season...

If you score, youll be fine

pubs around the Ricoh are a bit thin on the ground mate.
There are some chain restaurants where you can have a drink and get food and the Ricoh has a casino which seems like a big draw for away fans though for me the novelty wore off a long time ago.
You can book parking at the stadium itself as well.

When you lot appointed Slade we told you he had no idea what he was doing but got a bit of stick back as he was a bit of a returning hero up there I believe. Can you see where we were coming from now?

He's ruined us, and potentially killed us.
If we go down, we won't return

I probably know the answer already given your dreadful run of form - but how have Nathan Clarke, Vernam and Simeon Jackson been getting on for you?

Clarke will go down as one of our worst players in a very very long time, and he's as hated just as much as Slade in this area now

Vernam and Jackson both made a decent impression, but both injured at the minute

Did you hear some of the chants directed at Slade when we played you at Blundell in August?

He’s absolutely hated amongst our fan base and statistically our worst manager post WW2. I felt sorry for you when you reappointed him.

I can't see a thrashing here tbf. As much as I'd love to se one our players lack any form of killer instinct. On numerous occasions this season (Luton being the latest) we've took a commanding position only to sit back and throw it away. I predict nothing more than a bore fest!

In terms of drinking/parking, there is a Rugby club on Burbage Lane called Cov Welsh RFC, £5 to park, cheap enough beer, home and away fans normally parked in there. Only a short walk to the ground!

Thing is with Clarke is that he is far, far too slow.

Don't forget you now have sky blue legend Gary McSheffrey in your camp, he is bound to score against us if he plays

We can only hope, i'm not sure 1 player will make a big difference, but its a good signing, and he showed in 45 mins on Saturday he can still deliver a wicked dead ball

We are going to win 1-0 aren't we? 90th min, McSheffrey free kick onto Clarke head...

17 games without a win you say, you’ve come to play against the right club to break that......

Good grief that’s utterly terrible defending! It must be horrible to watch - feel sorry for you guys because we had this last year. Hopefully you can hang on in the run-in and pick up again next season.

It's hard to believe isn't it... this guy is a proffesional footballer...

It makes it worse that we offered a club legend in Shaun Pearson reduced terms, and Clarke was his replacment...

We didn’t believe it last season...and on that evidence he shouldn’t even be classed as a Sunday league clogger.

So you think we've scored 31 goals from penalties, free kicks and corners? I think your figure might be wrong...

You're welcome in the Three Horse Shoes pub on the Foleshill Road next to the Fire Station. We're a friendly lot in there and the beer ain't bad.

I'm going to defend Clarke to a degree there. As soon as he moved out to cover the full back, the full back should have come inside to cover but there are three players just jogging back which leave a massive gap.
He's still really, really slow and slowing by the day by the look of things.
As for Slade, at the time we got him i'd thought he was the right man for the job at the time. How wrong I and many others were. I was really surprised that Grimsby took him on.
