Is it apathy or fatigue, or both? There have been many well attended protests over the years. Was it 6000 who marched into town, and a similar amount a year later? I was at the Charlton away march in decent numbers. The Rochdale protest was very well attended. We've had pigs x 2, sit-ins, pitch invasions home and away, that really impressive display at Arsenal on TV. I stood on the hill at Northampton, all that stuff, and where has it got us? We've had years and years of it and we get nowhere. I feel a bit guilty about not going today but it's just exhausting. Not an excuse, but I do understand it.

Apart from the marches, which had weeks if not months of drumming up support, the only other protests with decent numbers have coincided with matches meaning people would already be there.

A fellow “hill monkey”, I salute you!

Yes, fatigue is a very good point. Makes me wonder about all the added stresses of supporting lower league clubs. Wouldn’t it be lovely to literally just worry about the football. I say that while watching the FA Cup final. Different worlds. A good point well made though @theferret

I wonder how many of the people that went to the protest then went inside to watch the game!

All of us. We all got given free tickets and Grendel came out wearing Wasp wings, a Wasps head bopper and a giant wasps foam hand. He loved it so much he’s signed up for a season ticket. True story.

Glad to hear it! That’s a big car park to wander round when you’ve forgotten where you left it.

PM me your email address. We will probably have a couple of spots in the upcoming elections.

We were too nice today. I got to Jimmy’s statue at 2.55 pm and could instantly see there would be no blockading of the turnstiles or the stadium car parks, we were too nice, I was too nice. All of us there were very polite and nice to each other and Wasps supporters and even to Wasps supporters from Coventry who engaged in conversation with us. northern wisdom and Moz from the trust are both thoroughly nice blokes. No disrespect as any protest is better than no protest but we need a ‘bastard’ to lead us into action. Probably harder to find than a cheap 20 goals a season striker.

The only guy I heard making sarcastic comments towards us was one of the people dressed in military uniform doing the collection. Shame really as apart from this the atmosphere was positive.
Numbers were disappointing but it was nice to put names to faces even if those faces are completely different from what I had pictured in my mind’s eye. Otis, I still picture you as Groucho (not Harpo) despite today. The least you could have done was to have false bushy eyebrows and a cigar!

You really need to open up voting to those who are unable to get to a pub in Coventry.

I do think publicity has a part to play. I recall the Cov Tel getting behind the march into town along with the trust. As we keep saying, the trust have the ear of the media, and up until recently were actually trusted!... and still would be by probably many more than the likes of us lot who (other than being "sisu apologists") look at and delve deeper into things going on.
Anything worth while numbers wise would need multiple media platforms and heavy publicity from the likes of the trust and cov tel... but as it stands, that is fairly unlikely to happen.
PSB had 24 hrs and by the looks of it was let down massively by people saying they'd come. Looking at it, i think most there were off here!!
A bit embarrased today, especially seeing lots of people I know who I was unaware that attended!... but that included people from the likes of Walsall who had come to watch top level Rugby.
Also spoke to Wasps fans from the south... who had little idea of the role of the council in all of this....

Just caught up with this with being in a different time zone and having no signal until back at the hotel. Can’t believe what I’m reading. This is way too amicable and friendly to be SBT. Disappointed to hear numbers weren’t good, but fair play to all involved, i would have been there if I was in the country. Well done BHSB & NW for putting it together!

I’ll have to check with the secretary but I’m sure it’s in the constitution it’s voted on at the AGM. I do agree it is an outdated system but it may even be a rule/law/regulation that it has to be done that way for all organisations of our classification in the country and there’s no way of us changing it. Some other processes are like that.

It had a bit of an effect though didn’t it a van load of old bill parked opposite JH waiting for our knuckle draggers to emerge, is that public land if not who gets the bill.
