Noticed this a while back that most things are Samuel now and not Sam, wondered if he had done an Andy / Andrew Cole.

Saw it again here:

I don't particularly care as long as Sam / Samuel Ricketts name is nowhere near the teamsheet -awful player doesn't seem bothered far too timid for the centre half position and too slow to be a full back as well - in summary don't rate Sam aka Samuel

My first touch is still there its the subsequent touches that are the problem.

Maybe might work as a 3 man central defence but a waste of a a salary

Quite harsh, I think hes been a good servant and model pro. Age has caught up with him but he's not a player or character I would lay into as above.

Hasn't been a good servant to Cov, this season, in desperate times weren't able to call on his experience / leadership etc..its not personal but equally there is no consolation that he is a model pro either, its surely what he does on the pitch that counts and, if too old shouldn't have been offered the extension.

As a fan I got no comfort watching an ageing Arjan de Zeuw being outpaced nor watching Colin Cameron bring unable to effectively contribute cos too old to play central midfield. Not sure of the wages but most here will agree that after last season Aaron Martin was a better option than Sam/ Samuel.

Hash maybe yet but good servant?? Thought he was gonna be a great signing when we signed him. After all he had just captained Wolves to a white wash of a champion season. But from the day Reda got injured he looked shake at best at centre half, lots of stray passes and not half as commanding as he ought to of been! Improved towards the end of the season at LB but was that the upturn of the team that helped? I'm not convinced he's that good and would of rather ed spend his wage on somebody else this season!

I think you're wrong, Ricketts coached Harries and Willis through the early games this season. He was solid for a lot of last season, just struggled being overplayed and constantly moved around.

I don't know about Martin, he had a comparatively good spell for us last season, but there is definitely a bit of rose tinted spectacle wearing when it comes to him.

Rickets has hardly played recently but was there for 4 of our 5 league defeats as well as the Norwich mauling- not saying it was all his fault but we seem to have improved since he was dropped.
