The obvious choice, but also the correct one. Good stuff Thorny!

Was thinking that aswell SW88. Hopefully this will convince Sammy that his future should be with us. We also need to get him tied down to a long-term contract as his expires this time next year.

Is this what could be classed as a 'positive' post that will have most fans agreeing with each other?? Well its been a long time coming

We need to get him down on a long term contract quickly otherwise we could end up with another repeat of Gunnarson, King etc.

Can anybody tweet Brody and ask if there are any plans to get players like Clingan, Juke and Turner tied down to long term deals?

I just asked if the club would be looking to sit down and discuss deals with Sammy, Martin Cranie, Chris Hussey, Gary McSheffrey & James McPake etc as they are out of contract this time next year, if I remember correctly.

Everybody who's on Twitter send Brody the same message! If he gets enough we may get a reply. Although it'll be one of those things he says he can't go into details on. But it's simple-anyone in business must know that you can't allow your most valuable assetts to leave for nothing. I do worry that Sammy & co. will be next years Westwood & Aron.

Sod signing a "franchise player"- we've got one, Sammy Clingan. If you want a guy who symbolises the side under AT, it's him-he dictates the tempo, playing the style of football we want to see, and has blossomed as a leader since Aidy left. Never mind that he's our best passer by a mile, he won the ball back lots of times through sheer will-power alone. There must be enough dosh left from what we were paying the Departed Three to up Sammys wages a tad and sign him up to a new deal?
