Well it looks like we could be in for a bit of a ride over the next few months.

This league is stronger as well.

Off-field decisions and recruitment is going well.

More goals score. Similar number conceded.

‘Our bad recruitment is now looking not so bad really…

But as mentioned by someone, we are better than this stage last season. Even though we are a work in progress.

I keep asking this, but what evidence is there that the league is stronger?

I’d argue that the 3 teams that come down are much better than the 3 that went up,

and Wigan and Reading were complete messes - so I’d say Plymouth and Ipswich are stronger

I'd say it's highly subjective and seems to get thrown about every season, people were saying it in 21-22 about 22-23.

Not a lot really?

Leeds Southampton, Leicester seem to be buying even though they went down. The points tally is slightly higher for each of the top few teams. The counter is of course that there are weaker teams as well.

At this stage last year we were still looking over our shoulders at the prospect of a relegation fight. We hadn’t lost against Norwich and it took a few games to get going after that.

Remember when they nabbed McNulty from us? Things change quickly in football.

Interesting that only one team in the playoff places at this stage last season stayed there.

Agreed

But a factor could be that there is only 6 points between Watford in 3rd and Reading in 14th making it easier for others to get into the play offs / teams to fall out

This year 3rd and 4th have gone in my opinion

If we end this season like we did last season, we could quickly make that only one spot up for grabs.

It's in our hands now all we have to do is match the points of the teams below us over the next 19 games and we have another shot at the play offs

Exactly this, once you're in there it's yours to lose. The positive being we're in incredible form at the right time.

Great position we are 7th over the last 20 games in the form table so consistency is there and goal difference tells a lot aswell gelling nicely

More money spent on transfers throughout the division, higher quality loans , quality of squads taking the place of the teams that went up ..Leeds southampton and Leicester far better than Burnley Luton and Sheffield united , Ipswich very strong from league 1 , Sheffield wednesday and Plymouth stronger than Reading Wigan and Blackpool.

Hull , albion , boro , City all very strong , Watford Norwich with strong squads yet can't do as well

Very strong league this year

Said it previously -
We lost away at West Brom on 3rd Feb.
After that, in our 17 (yes seventeen!) remaining league games, we lost just once! 4-0 at home Vs Stoke. We did not lose another away game!
That is some run - which ultimately sneaked us into the play-offs! (We only spent something like 8 days all season above that line.
THE definition of a late charge!

Valid points but it seems they get trotted out every year
I just think it's such a subjective argument it's meaningless.
Its irrelevant either way really, we just need to keep improving and get out of this league.

People usually say the leagues weaker don't they? " never have a better chance etc "

The three that came down are better than the three that went up I think and Ipswich are clearly better than what went down. The top end of the division is clearly stronger IMO.

The points accumulated by these teams backs this up.

They do, but they said it in 21-22 about 22-23, I don't think it was true.
But it's not a hill I would die on, which is sort of my point about it being so subjective.

I mean this is the first season where I've openly talked about getting autos, am I finally losing it have we improved that much?!
