Went to the Ricoh on way home from work to pick up new CCFC shirt ready for tomorrow night. Ordered it weeks ago and too mean to pay the postage so elected to pick it up from the Ricoh shop. Haven't been able to do that for several weeks due to the Olympics being on there, hence the visit today.

Got there just after 4 o'clock and queue out of the door. Though ha!ha! I can just go to the sales counter to collect my shirt and that's that. But no! all sales, be they tickets or goods, to be got from the ticket counter. Only had 3 serving, so it was moving quite slowly. Someone in the queue said they couldn't open the shop counter as they were short staffed!

The day before the first home match of the season and they are short staffed!

City never learn from their mistakes of the past. Wonder how many other people just gave us and went home like me!

Feel sorry for the three staff members working there. The amount of abuse they must of got from all the fans...don't even want to think about it!

Think the counter staff do a great job, and take far to much abuse for stuff that is way out of their control. Remember blame the organ grinder not the monkeys who just trying to do a decent job.

The staff don't deserve any abuse, but most likely get it because 'the customers always right' arrogance shown by customers in any industry.

Yet it's the clubs fault for gettin rid of staff and reducing the number on shift!

Exactly, they're short staffed as they've laid off too many in a bid to save money. It's exactly the same in my work-place, and it's hell.

So the club should employ more staff just to deal with the odd spike in customer numbers.

They wouldn't even need to really. Just employ temps at the more difficult times like at the start of the season (new ST's, new merchandise etc) and at the end when there's a massive clear out of the old.

Would never blame the staff, they do a good job in very difficult circumstances.

It is purely down to the Club, they have got rid of too many staff, then can't cope when they are busy. Same old! Same old!

Thing is, I went to get my season ticket last Thursday and I was the only the entire shop and not a single soul at the ticket counter either.

To put extra staff on just in case they get a rush is plain daft when most of the time the place is empty.

I'm all for them putting on minimum staffing levels to save money.

I'm reasonably certain that all of the catering staff in the ground on matchdays are temps: I've never been served by the same person twice, and I go to the same stall every week. OK the service is crap, but if they can have temps, why can't we for a few weeks?

Agree, but there obviously hasn't been the demand.

Guess it was just luck of the draw to get a queue when this poster did.

If this guy has paid for a shirt he should be given one when going to the club shop in the advertised opening hours its as simple as that.

If the club is willing to take someones hard earned money they should be willing to take the time and find his shirt. The staff in the ticket office and shop are 'OK', nothing more. True its not the staffs fault there understaffed but surely they have time to call someone else out, ie the ticket office or shop manager explain the problem then they should bend over backwards to get it for him.

Its these little things that make the difference.

why were so many people up there? thought they'd got rid of that pay extra on the day business so surely people weren't rushing up to get tickets for tomorrow?
