Sam Allardyce is not the reason the bid has been withdrawn according to Stuart Linnell.

Yea according to Hoffman it was because of confidentiality agreements were broken. Even if Allardyce was not the reason the takeover still would have been stopped unless they found some loophole around that rule.

According to the CET, it is because SISU broke confidentiality agreements to name the investors they did know about.

No wonder GH didn't want to name them if SISU were just going to shout their mouth off!

Obviously Hoffman and the company aren't going to come out and say " We messed up, we overlooked a simple rule preventing the takeover from taking place."

Confidentiality agreements may have been broken but I don't see how the takeover could possibly have gone through regardless of SISU's actions. They are just looking to blame SISU and the board.

But the rules are the rules no matter what he says how was he going to get around the fact that there were 3rd party interests?
Unless of course he was full of shit in the first place?

To be honest if i was one of Lord Lucan, Shergar, Elvis and Richey Edwards I wouldn't want my details being leaked to the press either about my involvement.

Surely Hoffman and the investors fucked up? I appreciate we all don't want SISU but a simple oversight like this is a very poor position to get to after all the talk. The Hoffman bid was flawed from the start then and blaming the agreement is surely a good way of covering a huge school boy error?

Bruce has been quoted that he was just an observer, whether it is true though!

Then why pull the bid? Why not sue The Sun for libel? Why throw your toys out the pram if you actually ever wanted to own the club?

I think Hoffman and his investors messed up and are just using the excuse that SISU broke confidentiality agreements as an excuse.
Thing is by SISU's actions all they have accomplished is turning the fans against them even more. If they just kept shut I think Hoffman's bid would have been found out in the end and his reputation would have been tarnished. SISU played right into Hoffman's hands as Hoffman gets to walk away with his rep still and fans hate SISU and the board more for sabotaging the takeover.

I am pretty sure there would be ways round that rule though about having other interests? That c4 show showed how easy it is!

the big Sam thing is pretty meaningless. for all we know part of the plan was for him to come here in some form. if that wasn't part of the plan then surely all that would have to happen would be either for Sam to be removed from the linked company or a new company set up? I would have thought it doesn't become an issue until a deal is actually going through not when it's still in negotiation.

Exactly.

They are not business newbies, if this was a big issue they could have quiet easily got around it if they wanted to.

apparently details of the deal were passed to a journalist who contacted Ken Bruce and this was the final straw considering they'd asked for everything to remain confidential! Once it was pulled, a copy of the withdrawal letter was given to the same journalist so either sisu done this on purpoee, or they had a rat in tye camp who was leaking info!!

Don't agree with that at all. Hoffman's reputation is in tatters if that bid was his best shot! He will need to re-group and come back at SISU from a fresh angle and if he WAS that serious then he will, right? Don't hold your breath....

All we need is for Hoffman to find investors who are happy to be announced to the public as potential investors, not fussed about this little matter of confidentiality, and happy to bow down to SISU's demands!

Where Joe Dhinsar when we need him?? Then again, I bet even hes more proffessional than this!!

Im sure theres a queue of investors willing to meet this criteria Sisu

SISU dont want to sell and will do anything to make out anyone interested is not serious, they will sell all players that command a fee, take what they can and leave without any of them even going to a game!!!!!!. While we argue who is wrong and right, by the way does anyone know where is Hoff today,,,, i bet he is not in portugal sunning his ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you SISU lovers enjoy league 1 as my 37 years of supporting the club is gone.. JOKE CLUB.

I would like to thank some of the posters on here for opening my eyes, there was me thinking GH and his backers, one a household name in football and others acknowledged by orange ken to be big hitters in buisness, would be able to put together a bid to take over. When all along they are a bunch of halfwits not capable of dressing themselves when they get up in the morning, oh what a blinkered fool i've been. Just a couple of points i need answering to become a fully fledged SISU drone, how did the national press get a copy of the offer letter, and then a copy of the withdrawal of offer letter, and if the bid was so basically flawed to contravene league rules why did the present board simply not dismiss the offer out of hand, showing everybody how wrong they are to hope there is anyone out there to save us from this incessant downward spiral. Or could it be that Ken scoobydoo is a self interested chancer looking to protect his scoobysnacks from anyone that wants to take this club over. I for one will still be protesting at the next game only this time i might decide to give the board a few verbals as well.

Ok you've shut me up, just letting off a bit of steam, i guess i've just had enough of the club being run by people with no connection to it. In all honesty i've no reason to trust GH anymore than KD, but he at least supports us. I still like the scoobydoo thing though.
