I hope so, too. The more in the mix the better. I'm sure Saints will turn them over.

On the prediction league it has Bristol City's game against Millwall on the 1st Jan. That can't be right, Millwall are playing the day before!

Great they will both be so knackered they will have to both forfeit the game and be docked 10 points for not fielding a team.:claping hands:

FOOTBALL LEAGUE LATEST: The shock of the day is on at St Mary's as Stephen Pearson gives Bristol City the lead against leaders Southampton. The Saints were unbeaten at home throughout 2011 going into this game.

It really isn't fair, you get a bit of hope, then this happens

The only positive spin perhaps is that Thorn can tell the lads that last week they beat a side who have just turned over the 2nd best team in the league.

Well the Saints banker wasn't any such thing. We are in the same place as last week anyway, we're screwed.

I'll be ecstatic if we have a chance of staying up on the last day.

Realistically, our fate could be sealed well before then.....if it hasn't been already.

3 point gap between the drop zone and 4th from bottom Bristol, and Millwall (5th from bottom) have a goal difference of -2. Ours is -15.

A 5-0 win tomorrow would be nice.

Said it on boxing day, we shouldn't be looking at 4th bottom, we should be looking at the pack near 5th bottom.

We are 10 points off competing, a win today is a must !!

Strange results always a plenty round Christmas / New Year time. Was half expecting this result to be honest.

As others have said, today is a must win just to keep even within 5 points of 4th from bottom. We need other teams above the bottom 4 to go on a terrible run of form to be honest. We are 10 points behind 5th from bottom. Let's not forget that. We can't just hope Forest, Bristol and Doncaster continue to struggle.

Lose today and with the run of games we've got coming up, we're as good as down as far as I'm concerned.

Form in the last 8 games....

19 Millwall (20) 8 2 2 4 5 9 -4 0.62 1.12 1.00 8 WlDlWdLl
20 Crystal Palace (10) 8 2 2 4 4 10 -6 0.50 1.25 1.00 8 lWwlDDll
21 Ipswich Town (19) 8 2 1 5 14 19 -5 1.75 2.37 0.87 7 dWwLlLlL
22 Derby County (14) 8 2 1 5 7 12 -5 0.87 1.50 0.87 7 WlWdLlLl
23 Coventry City (24) 8 1 1 6 7 13 -6 0.87 1.62 0.50 4 WlLllDLL
24 Nottingham Forest (22) 8 1 1 6 3 13 -10 0.37 1.62 0.50 4 LdLlLlWl

Not looking good despite the win against Bristol is it.

Not unless last week was the start of some fantastic run.

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if that was just a one off though and that we come crashing back down to earth today.

Hope I'm wrong.
