Something seriously needs to be done to safeguard English football and its clubs.

As well as us being moved out of Coventry, Cardiff have had their colours & nickname changed and now Hull City are being renamed as Hull Tigers. Add to that, Red Bull are looking to buy an English team and rebrand them. It's getting out of hand and our game is being slowly taken away from us.

It's clear owners don't give a shit about fans feelings and the football league & FA are too toothless to do anything about it. There needs to be some sort of fans body that has the power to stop these crazy whims of foreign owners. At the very least there needs to be some sort of independent review into the state of English football with the aim of putting in greater regulation.

Sad though it is, anything that threatens 'free' football on Sky and Champions' League success, probably wouldn't be!

Attitudes need to change, not among the hardcore fans (I'd suggest even at the bigger clubs they recognise the need for 'competition' and 'tradition') but the casual fans who slip a game on with their Sunday roast (not in a footballer's sense!)

I expect one or all of the major parties to put something about the governance of football in their manifesto in the lead up to the next election, as you say quite populist.

Maybe something that supporters direct need to lobby for. Something needs doing anyway. I think wherever we stand on our issues we all know what has happened is not right and none of us are happy about it.

Do Red Bull know Coventry could be for sale? Perhaps they could buy the Ricoh instead and re-unite club and ground. Red Bull do tend to be successful and do have a lot of money to invest! Fast cars, boats, planes, a brand of thrills! Wouldn't it be great to support such a team!

Didnt Man City fans refuse to go to Emerates last season as a protest about paying high matchday costs? Money talks though and unless the armchair supporters stop paying there subscriptions nothing will happen.

We can only hope people 'grow a pair' and refuse to pay extra for the BT Sports channel when their Champions League coverage starts. I'm 100% sure it won't be free then

i'm certainly not going to...

will be interesting to see how they do it. From their point of view, its best to do the old "£5 a month from 1st Aug, unless you cancel".

Not sure if they are allowed to do that though. An "opt in" scheme would be that successful for them

The key problem is that despite their vocal protests & outpourings online.....the fans of Cardiff & Hull are still lapping it up.

Cardiff, under their current owner, have seen over £140m of investment, got into the top flight for the first time since WW2 & reached a cup final......

....and they're certainly not the first team to change the colour of their kit or their nickname are they.....

Attendances this season at Hull & Cardiff are better than ever.....

I am sorry but hell no.

It all looks fantastic that Red Bull have come in to a few clubs all over the world, chucked a bit of money at them and they've started climbing the leagues, but the clubs are franchised with the Red Bull name, stadium names are changed (I wouldn't mind them changing the name of the Ricoh so much, but had it been Highfield road it would have been a no from me), the club's colours are changed and even the crest has been changed!

There have been mass protests regarding these clubs in the not to distant past.

I would rather stick than twist if it ever came to us being tookover by Red Bull.

I dunno, Red Bull Milton Keynes has a nice ring to it. Their impatient, jonny comelately weird fans get some investment in their franchise and AFC Wimbledon are happy as MK finally give up the Dons name that they stole. Its not like there are decades of tradition to protect

No I think you are right - and the commercial TV companies also had a say - I remember us playing on TV in a red kit, it did not have the Big T detail of our Talbot kit at the time and the TV companies did not want to lose out on revenue...or something along those lines.
