Amazing day of golf. Horrific coverage of sky when it mattered most

So chuffed for Lowry. Was quality to dig out that half and Hatton seeing it over the line. Great half from Hovvy as well

Think the levels of abuse and noise were just another level of difficult for the singles players. Plus handing out free noise makers with alcoholic drinks was only done with one intention.

I heard that the BBC radio coverage was the course commentary and was pretty good - sky kept getting Americans commenting was pretty gripping in the end but the golf shone through - that Keegan Bradley was still
Moaning when Rose nipped that shot out from the stands - wankah

Enough to rile the players up quite visibly.

Absolutely no decorum, its a game of golf, not a night at the darts.

Wow. What a night. Cant quite believe how close it was in the end. Great, great win for the Euros. Luke Donald - what a captain.

Might try and head to Adare Manor in two years now.

I thought I caught a bit of chicanery in one, can't tell you who it involves but did they call the referee at one point either slowing it down or getting ours to geta chivvy on?
Fleetwood maybe?

At best, a 15 handicap. Currently, probably 25!

I'm playing Woburn in a few weeks time. Will call Luke to see if he wants to caddy for me and we can start the dialogue.

It was Rose when he hit the ball into the stands - took time as they debated where the drop should be - Keegan stuck his nose in but was too late

And what a recovery shot by Rose on the back of that!

Keegan Bradley kept on chirping in the rules officials ear afterwards as well. Strange when the decision had been made.

Even American sports pundits had predicted it would be OTT before a ball was hit. - 50000 crammed into a golf course, copious alcohol and New York sports fans that have a bad reputation for poor crowd behaviour.

It was absolutely piss-poor from the American fans, or at least a minority of them. I'm not really a big golf fan, but the Ryder cup has always been worth a watch.

It's been raucous before, both here and there, but this was way beyond acceptable - personal, vicious abuse of individual players isn't something I thought I'd see in golf!

Pretty embarrassing on all counts for the American team. I'm sure a lot of their players (who are generally decent, sportsmanlike competitors, imho) are quietly mortified by what went on.

I went to the Belfry in 1993 (old bastard), it was incredible and I would highly recommend it if you can get a ticket!

Amazing!

The only thing that puts me off (other than the expected costs) is that you don't actually get to see much golf on the course!

If you get in early, you can get a good seat in one of the stands.
I went on the Saturday and Sunday.....I was very lucky, my uncle was an Ex Pro who had once played for GB and Ireland in the Ryder Cup and so got a few family some complimentary tickets.
On the Saturday I just followed certain matches around, but on the Sunday rushed to the stand at one of the par threes on the first nine, and got a seat. This allowed me to see everyone go through and then I went out around the course watching the final games still out there...and got to see Nick Faldo's hole in one.
Sadly we lost that one, but just an incredible experience.

100% this is the case.

It will vary from course to course, you'll be able to see more golf on some courses than others, but yeah with just a handful of golfers on the course at one time you don't see much.

You have to either camp out somewhere and get a great view but potentially wait hours for them to come through, or float around to follow the action but possibly not get very close to it.

I did Paris on 2018 and it was a great experience, in particular seeing Tiger play in person - that was always something I wanted to see - and a great thing to be able to say you've done. But I wouldn't rush back to do another one.

Personally I much prefer a normal tournament where there's so much golf to watch. I would highly recommend doing an Open, that's great.

JJust my personal opinion though!

I guess there'll be spots on the course where you might get to see a couple of greens and a tee box dependent on course layout etc.

I'm 100% up for Adare Manor though. Will be an amazing experience.

Similar experience to me at the K Club in 2006. Was amazing to see elite players play close up, but we saw very little golf.

Didn't help that the course was like a muddy Glastonbury our side of the ropes! Great atmosphere though but we did absolutely stuff the yanks that year
