Not sure on another Cm incoming. Just looks like one of our youth prospects going away on loan tbh. Would love to be proven wrong though.

He was never going to be near the first team. I don’t think this is any sign a CM is incoming.

That being said. Disappointed with Howley’s progress. Seemed to have the raw skills and physique to be a good talent, but doesn’t seem to have pushed on as hoped

I think he would have stayed for depth. It’s my opinion but let’s see

I don't even think he's a midfielder anymore. Looks more like a centre half

Yeah. I think we will save a little on half-time oranges and toilet paper, but that's about it

Im sure Howley, Burroughs, Dausch, Obikwu, Collins and another will be out on loan or sold before window closes.

Andrews and Yearn will be kept and brought into 1st team sessions.

Held back so far by not having quite the same ego as your average footballer

Great lad and has all the tools to be an excellent player so really hope it works for him here

Maybe this loan will kick-start things

Does he gorge on oranges and use a lot of toilet paper? Otis seems to think so.

Sure he wouldn't mind me saying that what he lacks in ego, he more than makes up for in appetite for citrus fruits

The toilet paper is mostly just to clean up the pulp from his face after a halftime ravaging

Howley and Isaac Moore were considered big talents. Shame what’s happened to both.

He did his ACL maybe 2 years ago, just after he was linked to Villa. Basically hasn’t been fit since.

League 2 loan week in, week out would be good for Howley. Personally don't think we should ever send youth players to SPL again. Burroughs and Howley both went there and completely overlooked

I'd sooner a youngsters like Howley be given a chance than persisting with Allen, at least Howley has development potential.

I expect he's saying that to persist with Howley over Allen would be a ridiculous decision. And he'd be right.

If we were still in league one I’d agree with you but the championship is one of the hardest leagues in terms of physicality and technical ability in Europe. We shouldn’t throw lads into the deep end sink or swim unless we believe them to have a high ceiling.

I would loan players out to the non league (which is really division5) before Scotland they just don’t play enough when they go there

If players are good enough then the SPL is fine.
It didn't harm Maddison.
Be like a Brighton supporter saying they shouldn't loan players to the Championship because of what happened to Ayari.

Your not getting into the top 6 with Allen.
He's league 1 quality.

And your point is what exactly?

He's no one's first choice when everyone's fit, and even then it's generally accepted we need another CM.

We need depth in the squad, but we're struggling if we're picking Allen.

Hes not really been given much a chance to be honest. Last season he was loaned to Dundee after their manager went all out to get him and picked up injuries which didn’t help him.

Year before he was kept on the bench all season and not allowed to play U21s much in case he was needed. Hes going out on loan to either a L1 or L2 club to get game time and showcase what he can do.

He’s not a CB. He’ll do it if it means he plays. His choice position is 8 or 10.

Jamie Allen is a more than capable - as proven, season after season - championship squad player. Ryan Howley is not a capable squad player at this level.

The squad that was dragged to 5th by Gyokeres and Hamer

There's no arguing that Allen is a top 6 player, if we want to get out of this league we ain't doing it with Allen playing 30+ games.
