The kids got a sweet left foot. Crosses admirably and gets forward well and defends well. Should remain in the team.
Second half was much better. Think they may be quite decent against league one sides. Initially thought we were poor and clearly not following instructions. It's interesting but without Tudgay it's difficult to pass constructive comments.

For me the most depressing thing out of being a Coventry supporter, out of ALLLLL of the bollox is that Haynes comes on, shows us he is a shining light in the gloom of Sixfields and yet we know, chances are by Jan if he plays like that consistently we will be having to fend off clubs and inevitably, losing him. It's so wrong.

Left back version of Christie. Good going forward, average defensively.

Now if only we had Christie then this wing back lark might actually have two outlets

Agree Paxman. He put in 3 absolute belters of crosses.

You can see how good he is at striking a ball when he warms up before a match or at half time. Every ball he strikes seems to go where he wants it. I thought he was ok defensively last night, got skinned once when the winger cut back inside but marshalled him well after that.

they have put a lot of effort in with him over the summer compared to where he was end of last season he looks a much more confident lad. if we do end up changing formation to 4-4-2 he looks very able to play the left midfield role with pugh in behind just need someone who can head a finish for him to link up with.

Looks more of a winger, wide mid to me, rather than a defender. But he is young and will develop.

Deserves some game time, but let's not play him to death and expect too much to soon.

I think with an experienced CB alongside him he could be a good defender too.

Still a young lad.

I remember his debut at the Ricoh, when he was so nervous that he threw up on the pitch.

Then saw him at Shrewsbury last season when he struggled a bit.

On the evidence of last night, he's come on massively from those games and if he carries on like that he should make a decent player.

IMO opinion him and miller were the shining lights last night.

exactly the same thing as i said to my mate - he will sign a longer term contract very shortly and be off by January to the highest bid

Too early to judge how good he is really ............ needs a decent run in the side to make any sort of judgement.

It was a very good cross for the goal, he showed a willingness to work hard and get forward, got back when needed but got turned a bit too easily, showed a good attitude after the own goal - he didn't hide (probably more telling about the lad than anything else).

It was a decent cameo but lets give him time to develop

Phillips looks a class act too, so in a season or two they'll be both offski... So is there any point getting excited?
