The more you read about this man the more you become to like him and what he tries to install.

I've read a fair few clips about him and looked at various stats when I posted the topic of "why Russell slades the man to save CCFC" where he's been at 90% of the clubs he's been at is fantastic.

There is a touch of Wimbledon crazy gang spirit about him where he installs a belief if we can beat anyone we're not inferior.... and plays a dated 442 approach but what it does with the correct personnel is effective and soon give us some rewarding days home and away.

On the first topic you posted gives a insight to him but that will take time with our current squad and will need a different set of players or key additions for sure

I'm confident!

Thanks to the OP for the links. Sounds like Slade has an old-fashioned approach to many aspects of football management – will to win, commitment, big guys, fitness, hitting people on the break, team spirit, often 4-4-2. It might not be for the purists, but we’ve watched so much ineffective crap for so long that I’m happy to give it a chance.

Countless times we've seen games where we've dominated the possession played nice stuff but notably the game against Burton last season were they let us play in our own half with a high press and harried us into our usual mistakes and won 2-0

Hopefully we will soon be that team who picks off other teams with that will to win and rough them up.

"The game is not simply about tactics, the best formation or who’s got the better technical players. Sometimes it’s about that will to win."

This I feel is very important. I remember Frank Clarke saying most professional footballers have a similar skill set on the training ground, but it was the determination to win that set them apart. The likes of Tony Adams and Jackie Charlton had that determination. That's why they played at the top level rather than the lower leagues.

No doubt abojt it we have had a pussy losers mentality for a decade

Last year when we were top was first time i started to lose fear. I even fancied us to beat some championship teams. Was a nice feeling. Didnt last long

Heres hope slade gets us playing like warriors

What we need right now is to stop being every opposition's punchball and not keep getting outmuscled, out-fought and bullied.

Hoping Slade can bring much needed physicality to the side.

87 you felt we could beat anybody home or away. Not a dead certainty but we were capable of beating anyone.
