I think the reality is, dovin is probably 12-18 months still from being the keeper he was.
ACL tear on a keeper is soooo much harder to recover 100% from than outfield.

Really? Excuse my ignorance here because I thought it’d be easier to recover from but I’m not a footballer so don’t really understand.

It’s not harsh mate, he was ok for us last season nothing special. If we’re going up we need proven quality in positions, dovin is young though can see him developing into a good Keeper

At his age being a reserve keeper in the PL wouldn’t be bad at all, so don’t think he’ll have much to complain about.

He is, and he’s much better than Dovin. Ruthless I know but it’s not time for people to start saying he should be starting when he’s back fit, we’ve moved on and dovin isn’t prem standard yet. I’d loan him to the champ next season if we go up

If we go up we most likely want 3 keepers on the books. If you're loaning Dovin out you're going to need to bring someone of similar quality in, unless you want Wilson playing in the Prem.

As Dovins hasn't played in the PL I wonder how you come to that conclusion. Rushworth has he played in the PL ?

6.8 goals prevented is madness and so much better than all the other keepers in the league

I've seen enough of Rushworth to know we have a gem of a keeper at a young age who will not be out of place in the premeir league. I fear the asking price but we can make that decision at the end of the season, his loan is not recallable.

Not anything to do with who has or hasn't played in the Prem. At present we have Rushworth, Dovin and Wilson.

We're hoping, or in some cases assuming, Rushworth will sign but it's not guaranteed. Not sure we should be in a rush to bin off Dovin.

People always seem very quick to want to get rid of our players, there's a few of our current regular starters that in last summers transfer thread had people offering to drive them to anyone who would take them.

If we sign Rushworth and if we sign a further keeper who is better than Dovin then you can be looking to get rid. But if we sign Rushworth replacing Dovin would be a fair way down my list of priorities.

Westwood was good but this lad is looking better tbh .
Problem is even if we go up other clubs might also be looking at him .

There is no way on earth that stoke keeper is on the same planet as him i know that

There's a chance Rushworth might replace their current keeper now for next season

If we got promoted and Brighton asked for £20m I'd snap their hand off.

He will play for England.

He seems more than ready for the top flight to me. Comfortably the best keeper we’ve had since….Kirkland? Hedman?

He’s been the main man for me, Christ knows how many points he’s gained us this season through wonder saves and a safe pair of hands (plus bloody assists too)

If we can get him, and we get promoted, he has to be the first signing. Future England keeper.

Can't speak highly enough of him. Safest pair of hands I've seen in a city shirt for many a year.

I think he's the best city keeper I've watched. He has a massive future, unfortunately it won't be with us,
