I don't imagine that Brighton will want to sell him - they didn't want to in the summer and they've stood by him for a few seasons now, through thick and thin.

Maybe they could lend him to us for another season, hopefully in the Premier League.

James Trafford looked good for Burnley in the Championship but not that good at a higher level

Brighton are very good at this game. They may not want to keep him because they probably can’t keep him happy with game time in the long run. They know he’s decent and loaning him to us was a way of inflating his value before they do decide to sell.

I think I took it from his interview when joining or a comment just after he pretty much burned his bridge's, well that's what I took from it.

Brighton probably feeling nervous of another Gyokeres situation - sell him to us and he becomes world class

Quite possibly trying to extract more from us I'd imagine should we look for it.

We all laud Pep for his achievements and his team talks on x10 speed but he has ruined some players too.

I can't see him going back to Brighton and getting in over Verbruggen who is the Dutch No. 1

Also worth noting that Brighton selling him would be worth 100% profit in terms of PSR, so selling him could give them more manoeuvrability in the next Summer transfer window

I saw there’s NO recall clause in Jan, cos Rushworth didn’t want one!

They have a couple of players they will get huge money for . They have the option of signing Rushworth to an extra year. If we don't go up Rushworth won't be signing for us , and we have a good keeper in Dovin to come back

every time I see a match with Beadle in he seems to make big mistakes I've sung it so much even the kids now sing the "watch out Beadles about" when we see him on the tv (only 80/90s kids will remember).
that drop in the last minute to Simms' feet when we beat sheff weds away last season

Id be impressed if we see him anywhere near the bench for this whole season tbh.
ACL tear for a keeper is very, very long recovery with no guarantees of being 100%

It's an Alan Nixon story so take it with a pinch of salt.
But Brighton looking to sign another young(er) keeper may have some bearing on Rushworth's future.

I think we really need to establish the facts of his loan conditions before we can value him, obviously Frank wanted him, not so sure Doug did, hopefully that is chatter but I'm sure I read that he was a little cool on the Idea don't know where that came from however piecing it together Brighton are after that 18 yr old, sale seems likely for his predecessor, good, now what is the market like for competition regarding us, how does our opponents on Saturday sound as a potential home for him?

What an invaluable difference having a quality goalkeeper has made for us this season.
Both Thomas and Kitching were ruled out today by flu, which would have been disastrous for us from the start with Collins or Wilson in goal. But with Carl Rushworth we have a keeper who commands his area very well, talks to his defenders and snuffs out attacks by coming for crosses. That, plus his positional sense and his exceptional ability to save shots has saved us today from what would have been an inevitable defeat, even before we went down to 10 men, given we were also without Saka and BTA. Wolfie and Lati played very well in front of him, I'm taking nothing away from their contributions, but this young man has been a massive factor in our development into automatic promotion contenders and potential league champions this season. We've still got Dovin to come back from his ACL injury, I'm not forgetting him, but we need to do everything we possibly can to sign Rushworth permanently.

I'd still prefer Rushworth. I think his overall game is more valuable to the team, although I'm not one for analysing stats, I'm probably too old, so I'll let you look into that for me.

The sad reality is. The better he plays, the more he prices himself out of a move here.

He did an interview this week, basically said the plan has always been January for full training no holding back, but that the knee has been up and down recently with some movements still causing pain, so depends on how the next couple weeks go.
