just seen on twitter Sisu turned down an offer of 500k. Sorry but I laughed at the low amount. Surely Sisu are not budging for less then about 10m. only a ball park figure from me. they don't really need to sell for anything less while JR2 still current. am I being stupid?

Are they expected to win JR2 ?
Even if they do will that give them the millions everyone expects?
Will that give them the Ricoh?

I'd assume that they think they are or why would they bother in the first place?

So the Club have made news of this bid public.

As in they have leaked the news to the Les Reid with details?

All a but naughty but why?

Don't hold your breath (based on previous experience). Even if they can get the cae heard and win it, it's possible they may only receive nominal damages - and in any case it is likely that CCC will have indemnified Wasps at the time of the original deal, so that if anything like this happened then CCC would bear the costs of any payout.

They expected to win JR1 too, even down to the last appeal - look what happened there.

I think they want a serious offer and for it to be done fairly quickly. Sounds like that to me else why would you make it public. You would just laugh it off.

When sisu bought the club back from admin they paid 1.5mil didn't they to Appleton so a figure around that would be my guess. Yes the club is worth less now but give them an offer they can't refuse. Their time is up here and they know it.

There clearly is no plan beyond next season.

Yeah pretty clear he knew fuck all about the bid until mid to late morning. I doubt he would've printed the Chinese consortium bollocks otherwise.

Speaking of bollocks, has anyone called him out on his tweet a couple of weeks ago when this first came out...'its bollocks I'm afraid'.

Now it's 'it isn't over yet'

Yeah, he is still saying that he was right because the rumour said that the bid had been accepted, but this one hasn't.

So bottom line currently is

- no offer has ever been agreed in principle or otherwise
- the only offer we have details of has been dismissed quickly and firmly by club/owners as being no where close to their expectation
- having been told that Hoffman wasn't involved it turns out he is
- local journalists having a field day on the massive amount of speculation, claim and counter claim
- the club itself is no further forward
- the fans are left confused, hopeful, disappointed, divided

kind of a ground hog day situation

I get very cynical about these things, and when they turn up.

It really is like a couple of years back.

On the face of it (if taking on some of the debt) then the offer's not bad at all. What, after all, is the value of CCFC?

However, we all know that CCFC won't be sold for this. A gentle enquiry would ascertain this, surely, rather than needing to go through a formal offer?

So why do we have to go through this all over again, when we *know* how all the parties will react? What is the point?

I no but he is the face of ccfc and you would think he would advise SISU to get rid but he won't.

That's what makes it look more like a PR game. You have people saying "get prepared to be angry" before any details have even come out.

They do seem to keen just telling Hoffman to go away, he used Michael before as a front for an offer so is there either something personal there or do they just not think it's serious?

You can almost guess how it is going to play out.

There's obviously something personal... and tbh, if there was, that'd encourage me I was wrong, and Hoffman was an appropriate owner for the club after all!

I don't like all these showcases though, the staged events. Does more harm than good, IMNSHO.

Yep, it does seem either personal or they know it's to start up a PR game. The £51,987.35 offer he made before clearly was.

Got to wonder who it is who has been leaking the various rumours via random fans and to what purpose.

There has been interest before and the club/owners have not put out the details. So why now? Seems unlikely that such leaks would have been placed with the sources claiming the scoop by SISU

Previous interest from Hoffman has always seemed to need the support of fans to give it impetus, but has always been knocked back by the owners. Is this the situation now? In which case the thought I have is how strong is the bid in the first place.

Or did someone just get lucky and discover something. Frankly I find this clamour for recognition a little childish and certainly unimportant to any solution

Christian Horner's married to Ginger Spice who was always my favourite. Her along with Kim and Kanye is a massive step up from 'Gaunty' and Alistair McGowan.

I would "think" they wanted to get in first and get it out there before it came out from the other point of view.

It was already being spun as something to make the fans angry and everybody be prepared etc.

Not sure about 'lost'.
I would love to know what the agreement is for him to be finally financially rewarded.
He does seem quite negative towards any bids.
I really hope that his own financial reward isn't coming into any of this decision making.
We have missed out on a take over before because it didn't suit the chairman personally. Despite him saying it was a good enough offer for SISU. Then orange Ken advised SISU not to accept it and the bid got leaked out scuppering the deal.

My guess with this one. Is that you would not bid for the club unless you knew you could do business with Wasps first. So I guess that a deal with Wasps was agreed in principle to stay at the Ricoh. Not SISU. (as rumoured)

Then the bid to SISU was unfortunately rejected.

I understand why SISU need to see proof of cash. I don't understand why they need to know who is actually fronting the cash.

When they themselves bid Joy/RR led the bid but the cash was from other investors whom have never been named.

Gary Hoffman repeatedly denied it so he never leaked it. The club were the ones who actually confirmed it and were scathing towards it.

Mcdevitt heard something but got his facts wrong. So he must know someone who knows someone involved. That's not the same as intentionally leaking it to get people angry.
That's just people not keeping their gobs shut.
