I believe there was talk a lot by the present owner before he bought Wasps, but who really knows.
It fits in with the forums theme though that it's the councils fault.

Factual though isn't it? So probably doesn't fit in with your theme.

Richardson, who then became the owner of Wasps and moved them here.

If new owners were going to buy the club and the Ricoh why not just buy the club and build a new stadium for the same price?
On the same thing , why don't Sisu do that ?

I thought Wasps bought the Ricoh for less than £10mill?

A new stadium for CCFC would cost £15mill+ surely?

Just have to wait and see. Hopefully, new owners coming in can buy a % off Wasps or if Wasps go bust, they can buy the Ricoh for CCFC.

Who knows what SISU would do with the Ricoh if they owned it.
Knowing sisu they would probably pile the debt on the stadium straight away , more than likely using some kind of bond scheme.

They were offered a stadium in London but refused.
Hugh Godwin: Wasps didn't have to send themselves to Coventry

Doesn't fit in with your skewed view though does it?

Of course it would have been big enough. And why shouldn't they rent? Renting is great it seems. You want the football club you apparently to support to do it? So why not Wasps?

£5.5m plus £1m to extend the lease by over 200 years. The loan is irrelevant.

I want CCFC to do it because its the only sensible way forward.
Can't believe the naivety of people thinking we can own our own stadium at the moment.

Aren't Wasps in the same position as CCFC? Neither can afford to buy a stadium, the only difference is Wasps had people invest, get loans etc and get the Ricoh.

So CCFC must rent but you don't want London Wasps to rent...in London. That article dispels the myth they HAD to move. They didn't. They moved for money, not for the fans. As Clint pointed out no different to Sixfields...Wasps did it permantely.

It amuses me people like Italia said don't sell any of the Ricoh lease to SISU as they will mortgage it and borrow against it...something Wasps did within a couple of months, but apparently that's OK.
