"Break even" isn't a business strategy, it's the result of a business strategy.

Agreed. What is required is a clear 8 year strategic plan with funding to enhance the changes that are required, in the short term

We could quibble about timescales, but essentially yes. That's all I've wanted from Sisu for years is a business plan. All they've ever given us is earnings targets.

They wouldn't last five minutes in Dragons Den.

IMO this is one of the many things that makes financiers shit at business.

There are numerous examples of "Good practice" from private, public and voluntary sectors. However, just take the UK Sport strategic template and apply to CCFC and it'll give a clear vision for changing the clubs fortune and monitoring it.

I am saying the offer is completely different.

I posted the link as it was discussed in there already.

It explains how what Hoffman is bidding for isn't worth nothing like he keeps saying, and how the £1 that keeps being mentioned is irrelevant. It's no different to when it's said SISU have put in £70m or whatever.

Can you explain why you want Hoffman to pay a higher price? I suppose you must get a commission from SISU.

No, I want him to offer an higher price so it it's more likely to happen. Not offer lower prices that are never going to be accepted and get hopes up.

It isn't hard to understand, nice try though at the commission line. It will get some froth flowing.

Try to read my posts and keep up, the one where I said that I would love for them to just hand it over for free but it isn't going to happen kind of already nulls what you have said before you have even posted it.

There is no higher price only the price at which a deal gets done. That in my opinion will be greater than the total value of the assets. How much does a new buyer want the club and how great the desire SISU has to go? That's what will drive this potential deal

Hoffman or anyone else needs to pay as low a figure as possible, lets not kid ourselves it is £1 or a valuation of a company no one wants to buy or indeed simply the assets we can identify. Value is not the issue price is and that means setting it at a level SISU will sell at and still be viable for new owners/CCFC or walking away (for now)

That's the thing. Hammer the community / local businesses etc, schools, universities and build up advertising. Have no shame in what you advertise, not so much sell your soul but basically be clever about it and revenues go up.

Talk to fans openly about the plan, explain it's going to be break even but the club are working as hard as they can to keep building. Make them feel involved and important and ticket sales go up, shirt sales go back up.

Before you know it you don't need to sell a player every season.

Be very clever like Portsmouth and fan fund / get sponsors / get grants and build a training centre complex that's community based. What good is Ryton for us at 8pm? Have a look at places like Finbars and even the Higgs centre for inspiration. Obviously the public won't be strolling around watching the players train but that can be sorted. It could be a place for functions, birthday parties, wedding receptions, "an evening with events" etc etc. All valuable income to CCFC as well.

How many people with kids would have a CCFC birthday party at the training base where Sky Blue Sam visits? I wanted one for mine and asked both the club and the Ricoh at the time and all that I could have was a function room at the Ricoh which was about £400 and I had to pay a tenner per kid for nuggets and chips. Buy a CCFC bouncy castle, crank up that speed shot and put on a buffet and plenty of parents would go for that.

Work with the Former players and put on an evening with dinner, £50 for a meal and an evening with a random player. Get 150 people in there thats £7.5k, then you have the bar takings on top of that. I don't know much about the catering trade to say how much profit it would be etc but even if it was £4k profit for that night and you have 10 a year that's £40k you didn't have before and you also have people feeling part of the club etc etc.

There is so much you can do just by owning the CCFC brand and thinking outside the box.

Christ, I am sounding like Trump and make America Great Again!

Probably because, like the rest of us, he wants SISU done. For that to happen someone needs to make an offer SISU deem acceptable.

The club will continue to be run by SISU on a breakeven basis. A new owner could continue to do the same BUT the big difference is that SISU are facing a massive decrease in revenue, due to alienating the fans. Whilst, a new owner would probably face a decrease on current revenues BUT nowhere near the scale of our current owners. I fear that CCFC will be hopelessly under resourced next season if our current owners are in charge.

The owners WONT change if people are hoping on Hoffman. Clearly doesn't the resources, only hope of a sale is a fresh bidder - which is unlikely.

I just think that realistically, even if there is an initial cash injection, the club will be expected to be self sustaining, I personally have no problem with that.

Hoffman won't put money in, he wants to buy and run as is, on the hope more people come and watch the football club. I can see maximum 2,000 uplift of people coming back to watch. The rest are casual fan (nothing wrong with that) or have just lost interest.

so you don't think they'll be even a small, initial cash injection? I could see the uplift been a bit more but I don't think it will last long unless there's some semblance of success on the pitch.

Local press seem to think Charlton are the team with their owner keeping ownership of the Valley and selling the training ground and the club for £20M.

I and no one else think they "deserve" a shit load of cash but that will probably be the only way to get rid of them.
