5m upfront. with add ons to 20m depending on success might be good idea for 3rd bid

You might be being a bit generous there CC4L. Said last week after GH had been on the radio that the balance of the bid needs addressing. the final possible achievable amount wasn't that bad of an offer IMO however there needs to be more up front, £5M sounds good to me, and less add ons but the the final possible ammount being somewhere in the ball park already proposed. Something like a smaller percentage of player sales or any Ryton sale but the same promotion windfalls, maybe even upping the premier league windful as a final larger carrot might work.

My opinion, if Hoffman is offering £500,000 and £1,000,000 for the football club - would suggest there is no real money behind the consortium. I appreciate the club isn't worth much but I cannot see SISU walking away from the football club without even part of their debt paid or to be paid in the future.

Clearly, Mr Hoffman has waited until the club was relegated to get the club on the cheap! I for one want new owners and SISU out but I would like (in an ideal world) a new owner who has money to throw at the football club, and not just run it breaking even like our current owners.

I don't care if new owners run the club at break even, as long as they do so as part of a wider strategy for taking the club forward. Something sisu have no intention of implementing.

I'd probably prefer it to be honest than aimlessly chucking money and then it going tits up...

as i said few days ago the problem is it feels like slow death vs big gamble of life or qucik death

i cant see sisu model leading to club being very successfull so is breaking even good enough?

let us all ponder

I wasn't on about SISU's model.

I think fans need to get past the expectation that people will come in and throw millions at the club and then just walk away when the fans say so if it doesn't work out.

im not sure most fans think that.

being honest i think most fans just want anyone but sisu. and lets be honest the chances of a new owner being as monumentally bad as sisu is very slim.

but of course it is possible hence the gamble.

may the odds be ever in our favour

If the club is breaking even, the same money going in/out

Get that, and I totally agree.... however breaking even has got us to League Two along with some horrendous decisions. I was merely saying a new owner needs to throw money at it for success, which Gary Hoffman's consortium do not appear to have.

In my opinion any deal that will be done, will be done behind closed doors and not in public.

I'd be relatively content with new owners coming in and operating almost identically to SISU where the team isn't flush with cash and players need to be sold. It's the 10 years of complete disdain they've shown to the entire fanbase that rankles most.

I don't think breaking even has got us to where we are as much as the bad decisions to be honest.
Other clubs do OK breaking even, look at Fleetwood this year. albeit the owner threw money at them in the previous couple of seasons.
We also have, conservative estimate, £120,000 of seats unsold each game which our owners appear to make no effort to sell. Even filling a third of them would make break even a lot more comfortable and this is where the lack of strategy comes in. I'd like to think new owners would bust a gut to get people back up the Ricoh.

Yeah, but years up until now Fleetwood owners have thrown A LOT of money at it to get them to League One.

In terms of seats/fans, fans in general are fickle, most we would get is 7,000 season tickets, more seat by seat if we are winning games and towards top of the table.

I just think that realistically, even if there is an initial cash injection, the club will be expected to be self sustaining, I personally have no problem with that.

Substitute the word "loads" for "some" and that looks familiar to the situation we have now.

So if you are saying SISU are leaking it because they don't want a deal...Who is telling people like Italia in advance which is clearly not SISU...

Have a look at the bigger picture and how it plays out.

Rumours come out about takeover, bigged up as done deal (gets fans hopes up)
More rumours about deals being too good to be true, good news coming, cant turn down, will make them think (excitement) People were being prepared to get angry.
Offer rejected (anger)
Massive new offer going in, no way can sisu say no, fans on board etc (excitement again). People were being prepared to get angry, this bid will make them think.
Offer Rejected (anger)

How does that play out if we never saw the details / figures?

Massive outrage at figures being shown, the same figures that show it was a bad offer. Almost as if it's countered the above.

Why is it a bad offer? Its more than any sane business person not influenced by emotion would ever offer for a club in this state

The offer is about 15% of the asset value.

The add on's are a way of ensuring the investors don't pay out. The club does. Imagine this, attendances double (don't laugh), only one problem. Them extra fans are not putting money in for players but to pay SISU.
