'Leeds Utds former Swindon striker Billy Paynter is set to move to Coventry on loan. He suffered an injury in training and missed out on a deadline day switch to Coventry with Brighton also intereseted.

Paynter has opted for a move to the midlands as he sees the greater opportunity for first team football. Simon Grayson is willing to let the player move on after a disapointing spell at Leeds.

Juke going to Boro despite what the telegraph says. Paynter + Cody up front.

Just a whisper.... '

As I said yesterday, I don't see how this can possibly be true. What on earth would we gain from loaning out a player we could have sold last week and brought in much needed coffers into the club?

why not let juke go on loan if we get Painter? painter can at lease hit the net from 3 feet out. joke

seriously if he goes on loan we still keep him and can recall him, they pay his wage so we save a bit of cash, and he gets good experience at a better and bigger club, he could come back with new training skills, a brighter future, you dont know, but all this shite about him being the new jesus is just getting too much for me, ... yes he can run around and he gets stuck in .. his job is to score 20 to 30 goals a season (even 15)).. he can not do that and that is all you need to know about a striker. let him go out on loan and see if their better coaching staff can do a job on him.

Howzer - he is a kid who will score 15+ this season
by the time he is 24 he will be a regular 20+ striker at this level

do you really know your football or do you follow others like a sheep?

I Love juke as much as the next fan, but in no way am I convinced he'll ever score 20+ in a season. He just doesn't look the type, and certainly not a born finisher.

I think people are forgetting that this is a team game, juke can't score as many because he doesn't / didn't have a decent partner upfront, he didn't get support from midfield, by the end of the season if he doesn't get injured he'll be on 15 goals and probably the same amount of assists, can't wait until the derby game PUSB

Juke is more like the old fashioned centre forward, a big man up front who can hold up the ball and layoff to a faster moving striker, it worked well in the 70's with Ian Ferguson and Ian Wallace for city, why not try it. Juke laying the ball off left or right McDonald or Clingon to run on. Of course laying off to the wings and moving forward himself. A very similar role to Emile Heskey for Villa and England, he might not score many but could be in a position to create numerious positions from which an attacks by other players could be mounted.

We have a striker to play off Juke now. We also need a couple of loan attacking midfielders. Could also do with Bigi getting in the box more. Let's get the players with confidence getting forward and into good shooting areas playing off Jukey. We have a decent defence so we can start controlling games if we attack more. Have our opponents on the back foot for once. Then the goals will flow.

I would like to know who keeps starting these rumours every other day.
Must be a good confidance booster for juke as he must feel like the most wanted footballer in the country at the moment because nearly everyday he's being linked with a club.

I don't understand all this love for Juke. How is it acceptable to have a striker playing when it is obvious the guy doesn't have any sort of finishing talent. Yes he can hold the ball up and yes he gives his all, but if the guy can't score goals then he is a dead weight. I would be happy to see him go if he was replaced by a decent finisher.

Happy to replace him even he lays off stacks of balls for opportunities for McDonald to grab a hat-full?

WHAT?! Boro fans aren't fanatical!!! They're as passive as we are. Their attendances are no bigger than ours. I have no idea about fan base but I'd suggest we're not far apart.

Doubt there's anything in this one, hope not! Paynter has failed terribly since making the move to Leeds. I think I'd go with Roy, Clive and Freddy as backup rather than Paynter. He's also very unpopular with the Leeds fans, from what I can establish, for being utter rubbish. 1 good L1 season is how I'd sum his career up.

This is Billy Paynter, if he comes he looks like he will be Jukes replacement, the City has to have a transfer market conveyor belt, buy low, sell hight.

Back to the OP! Otis when we were all in meltdown about this you made the the same judgement that it does'nt stack up for the club. But after the deal getting so close hiis head may have been turned, so if theres anything in this ,would be more about the player and agent, guess well find out saturday, body language ,performance etc:thinking about:
