http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/38241956

No league above

They were in the prem for 1 season about 3/4 years ago, don't know the ins and outs but I think they spent a lot that year to stay up and ended up winning 1 game maybe and went down.

Just read it playing budget of 1.7 million still and only 400 watching now!

They can't move to Coventry as the trains are full of thousands of die hard London Wasps fans according the propaganda pages today.

I thought you were joking but then I read the article. What a load of absolute BS. Wasps themselves claim a high percentage (forget the exact figure, sure someone can enlighten us) of attendees are from the CV1-CV6 postcodes.
Premiership rugby team Wasps’ move to the Ricoh Arena is one of the key reasons behind a huge rise in the number of passengers using Coventry railway station.

The station has seen its passenger numbers shoot up by a massive 700,000 in the wake of Wasps’ historic move from High Wycombe to Coventry in December 2014.

Wasps’ relocation has been a major factor behind the increase in passenger numbers passing through Coventry as thousands of diehard fans from the London area regularly make the journey north, according to sources.

Well if an anonymous source has said it must be true. Why would you need to stay behind a veil of anonymity for something like this?

Of course the most telling thing is that if you bother to look at the report on which this article is based it says the data is collected in a different manner every year so year on year comparisons can't be made!
As a result, changes to the methodology mean that direct year-on-year comparisons for the stations affected are not valid.

Just another example of the shit they push. It's easy to say a "source" said something.

700000 down to Wasps...they are having a laugh. Have Wasps had 700000 fans through the turnstiles in all of their games added together.

If you look at the report they're basing this on even if you ignore the fact that it clearly states you can't compare year to year due to different methods of calculating numbers the figure the CT is quoting is the estimate of the total number of passengers who boarded, disembarked or changed trains at the station. Assuming most people go somewhere and then return you have to halve that number to start off with.

Its either deliberate spin or incredibly bad journalism.

Why would they even put it down to Wasps in the first place?

Look how it's written Italia all like it's because of Wasps it is shamefull with little if any supporting evidence apart from some mystery source, everybody knows why they give them lots of lovely press why don't they just put it Wasps spend lots on adverts we will kiss their arse.

Agree. But we need to work on this to get the headlines for CCFC.
It's not a choice between Wasps and CCFC in the news, it can be both.
Similarly because Wasps are doing well it doesn't mean we can't do well.

Although it is difficult to find much positive news about the football club they don't seem to try too hard and have an agenda, where as the smallest thing Wasps do or don't even do is headline news.

Perhaps it's all down to talking to the press more and effectively giving them stories. (Better PR)

Are you seriously suggesting that off the back of a report on passenger numbers which explicitly states you can't compare this years figures to previous years figures due to a change in methodology led to Wasps passing on a story to the CT claiming an increase was down to them and the CT published it without the slightest bit of fact checking?

I'm replying to the previous post saying that everything Wasps do gets in the press.
Calm down.

Two different discussions.
1. He should have not gone back on as he was concussed and the system in play missed it.
2. Retirement is an individual decision based on medical advice for that individual.
