in no way do i underestimate his impact on the team

but whether we play 433 or 442, we should be able to pick 3/4 of the following and be more than strong enough

Wright/EMC/Sakamoto/Sheaf/Grimes/Allen/Torp/Eccles/Patterson

Give him Stoke and Derby off to rest. Bandage the shit out of the shoulder, stick a big needle full of toradol in it and get him out there for Sunderland.

This is the crunch end of the season in an elite sport with £100m+ on the line. You do what needs to be done.

Are you being serious?

This is not just a young players career but his life afterwards that could be affected. What happens to our play off chances for this season are quite frankly lower down the priority list than Jacks health. Whatever treatment and associated recovery time is required should be given and however long that takes it's up to Frank to find a way forward.

Not ideal if he's out as 15 goal contributions is a lot to take out. Offset to an extent with the return of Wright, hopefully it isn't too long.

Just as you think we’re getting to 100%, the football gods have their own ideas.

Losing our top assister means Saka, EMC and/or Torp need to step and get us over the line in these games.

Some on here need to relax. It's a blow for sure but we have more than enough firepower in the squad to fill in when needed and get us over the line.
Wasn't long ago that people on here were calling him a waste of £4m.

Completely serious.

I'm sorry but it's a shoulder. It's not like his knee, foot or hip dislocated. Maybe I'm too influenced by sports like rugby or NFL where players play through injury but any surgery or serious rehab can wait till the end of the season.

Sadly the issue with shoulder is, if it needs surgery then there is little alternative. pushing it in and having it keep popping is making it worse and worse. Plus it's near impossible to operate properly if one shoulder is compromised.

If dislocated, best outcome is it went back in with no damage and although they say it popped again, it didn't and it was just some pain. Then probably looking at 4-6 weeks intense physio, strength work etc.

if it popped out again, then sadly in all likelihood that may need surgery.

But we are all guessing. annoyingly with the club being secret squirrel we may not really hear much detail - @Saddlebrains do your best!!!

Jack's shoulder more important than Cov getting into the Prem League? Not a chance!

Its an injury, comes with the job.

I agree. To be honest if we can’t cope with one injury, it would be a sign that we’re definitely not ready for the premier league.

Well we got to the playoff final without Ohare who was injured for most of the season with his acl and is could be argued the depth and quality of our squad is better now than then

This is quite possible. I believe one or two of the oxford players might have targeted his shoulder following the injury. I just think that if it was bad enough to pop out a second time on fairly minor contact he wouldn't have been able to continue following the original injury. Shall have to wait and see.

Cliffie Hodgson at Coventry Rugby kept playing with a shoulder that kept popping out. Regretted it and was never the same player. His heroics didn't really move the club forward either.

Yes players in some sports play through injury (speedway was the biggest I have followed). But fans like you have long forgotten their heroics while they suffer in later life. Arthritic pain and lack of mobility is no different if it is a knee or a shoulder. You obviously haven't suffered these things..... Otherwise I would be calling you a moron

The news on Rudoni will be kept in house unless its an end of season prognosis. The player will get top medical advice and treatment for the best long term outcome. I honestly think the longer with no news the better the news could be for us on a return. But until we know its no point guessing anything just got to keep our fingers crossed its not as bad as feared.

Also bear in mind we’ve gone from straddling the relegation zone to the play offs without arguably our best player so I trust Frank to deal with this effectively.

Some great in the know advice on this thread. The club should consult folk on here and cut out the middleman via experts in hospitals .

TBH that would be the best, could probably get straight back to playing if we can sacrifice the arm.

Will be a massive miss as he has been the POS so far IMO, but I wonder if Frank was already considering switching to a back 5 for the games against Sunderland, Sheff U & Snorely in which case, could we go with 2 wingers behind the front man as we ended with against Sheff Wed. I would like to think we have enough to beat Stoke & Derby without Rudi sticking with a 433.

I'm going for pragmatism we know both ways work,so if feels they're getting complacent switch it up.

We have Grimes, Sheaf, Eccles, Allen, Torp and Paterson who can play in the central midfield positions of a 433 formation. It is still possible to change to a 532 formation with Haji/BTA/Paterson playing in the 2nd striker role.

There are plenty of options without rushing Rudoni back, I think it is more important to get him injury free for the last 4 or 5 games of the run in and the playoffs (assuming we make them).

Great point. I could easily see Lampard go to:

Dovin
MVE Thomas Binks Kitching Bidwell
Sakamoto Grimes Sheaf EMC
Simms

Or

Dovin
Thomas Binks Kitching
MVE Torp Grimes Sheaf Bidwell
Simms Wright

I’m not keen on the 5-4-1 but Lampard certainly is

Just prattling but fotmob has him down as,out for 6 weeks and I think that's because from what I can see that's usually the minimum for this type of injury.

I'm not expecting to see much of him for the rest of the, season but hopefully I'm wrong.

I don't think so either but the players all seem jokey about it on social media so fuck knows.
