With Wright on his way back, could we play EMC in that role?

I guess it would be Torp if not?

I’d try 4-4-2 potentially. The shape in defence was 4-4-2 in defence with Eccles playing higher up than usual.

Great opportunity for Torp when he comes back though if Lampard sticks with 4-3-3/4-2-3-1.

You still talking to Biamou and why would he be at all interested?

I had shoulder surgery years ago, during my recovery I had a post surgery appointment to see my surgeon and got talking to a Walsall player who was seeing the same surgeon. Turns out, he popped his shoulder twice and needed surgery on both occasions. Hopefully Jack’s injury isn’t as severe, but the shoulder is a very complex joint. A massive miss if he’s sidelined.

Chat gpt more hopeful
Can’t believe some of the reactions on here to musing

The recovery time for a footballer after a dislocated shoulder depends on the severity of the injury, whether there is any associated damage (such as ligament tears or fractures), and the treatment approach. Here’s a general timeline:

• Mild Dislocation (First-Time, No Major Damage):

• If the shoulder is relocated quickly and there’s minimal soft tissue damage, a player might return in 2-4 weeks with rehab and strengthening.

• Moderate Injury (Recurring Dislocation or Some Soft Tissue Damage):

• A return typically takes 4-8 weeks after physiotherapy and strength work.

• Severe Injury (Ligament Damage or Surgery Required):

• If surgery is needed (common for players with repeated dislocations), recovery can take 3-6 months or more.

Many players return quicker by wearing a shoulder brace or taping, but there’s a higher risk of re-injury. If surgery is required to stabilize the joint (especially if it’s a recurring issue), the layoff is much longer.

Not sure why people jumped down your throat

Seems likely he's out for 4-6 weeks at least. Hopefully no more than that and back for playoffs

Certainly missing everything before the international break. Big shame he'll miss the Sunderland game.

4 weeks and 4 games back by Burnley game 5th April with 7 games to go till the end of the league season.
Importantly he should be OK for the play offs if we make it.

There's always players injured or suspended, it's football. For Sunderland we'll have Haji, EMC, Torp all firing.

Andy Robertson dislocated his shoulder playing for Scotland against Spain on 12th Oct 2023 in the Euro qualifiers, and didn't play again until 28th January 2024.

Think it’s got to be Torp in that role, gives inswinger corners on both sides too. Unless EMC can manage it, but maybe that’s a last twenty chasing the game solution.

Rudoni has been consistently good over a prolonged period now. Replacing him will be difficult but hopefully he's back before the key games. Difficult one for FL to manage but I have plenty of confidence he can find a solution.

Love Rudi, but this is why we have a squad. Others have stepped up recently. Today, apart from the kids etc, we had Wilson, Raphael, Bassette and Torp who weren’t even in the matchday 20. Someone will need to step forward and I'm sure they will.

It's a shame, just hope he's not out as long as it sounds like it could be. Would have been great if we could have got our best 11 on the pitch together, we've not been able to do that for a bit now and still been on this run. Would have been interesting to see what a fully fit team could do.

If he’s out for the a long while, Sheaf will come in and Torp will take over when fit. Trust the deck!

It doesn't seem like he's gone to hospital (I know the club have a doctor but still). Hopefully not out too long

Love the "season over" posts. It's one player. Even if he's out for the rest of the season, a midfield of Grimes, Sheaf, and Torp, doesn't exactly sound like scraping the bottom of the barrel.
