Yes and specifically O'Hare plays in the same position or role as Rudoni would do, and O'Hare is looking at Premier League football, Rudoni on the other hand 12th.

Similar to Hamer, and similar with Torp and Eccles 12th place.

Unless we sign new centre backs, buy a box to box midfielder and accept the fact our centre backs are not good enough and Torp and Eccles are nothing but substitutes and filler ins when your main talent is either suspended or injured, we will just be another Bristol City with the occasional QPR cameo of a season.

Mason Clarke, Wright, Simms, Sakamoto and Simms have all proven to be decent signings.

However Collins, Dasilva, Joel Latibeaudiere, Bobby Thomas, Kitching, Binks have all proven to be poor signings.

I’m very happy to have been proven wrong on him. Since Lampard has come in he’s been excellent; long may it continue!

Feels like our midfield 3 is Rudi and Grimes with Sheaf when fit but if not then Allen, Torp and Eccles all fighting for it.

Rudi is now a clear first choice starter.

What Frank has done seemingly and I’m sure a lot is down to results and confidence is to get players focusing on how they can impact the game

Especially the midfield

Allen - harrying and all round energy
Rudoni going forward with a free role and told to beat players and get dangerous crosses in
Torp - find space, attack the box late, have a shot
Add in a sprinkling of simms use your physical presence
Bta believe in yourself
Dovin be confident
Kitching - aggression

Ala team

The team believes it is one of the best in the league. I'm not trying to stoke (lol Stoke) a Robins war by mentioning his name, it's just a comparison... but I never got and presumably they, the players, never got that under Robins. He always wanted us to been seen as an underdog which was fine, when we were, but it didn't hold water given the squad we assembled and was frustrating to listen to.

Ah yes “be confident”

He’s found a formation in 532 that gets the best from underperforming players. Rudoni is a wide midfielder and he’s good getting down the left and putting crosses in. When he was played centrally he looked lost. The flatter three lets him do that. Talk of him in front of Grimes and Sheaf is wrong I think and would go back to him looking lost

Simms and BTA need a partnership and are getting the ball earlier because we’re more direct which helps the midfield and defence out. The CBs in a three mean their deficiencies are hidden and MvE has licence to get forwards without worry.

Mostly though we’re a lot more direct and not relying on players to pass and move, which we’ve seen they can’t really do outside fits and starts.

People forget that in December, you don’t get a lot of contact time with the players to actually coach them, between Pompey and Norwich away, we had 5 games in 16 days. Lampard is starting to make a difference now his team have got more time with the players. It really does show that the difference was the tactics and coaching holding players back.

I still believe it’s slightly unfair to judge his whole record until Wright, EMC and Sheaf are back in the frame. Now add Grimes and any other potential signings, we could be laughing!

Even if we don't do it this season, there's plenty to be excited about. I'm already worried that he could get poached by another club...hopefully he's at the point where he will want to achieve promotion with us to prove the doubters wrong.

Beating Leeds is the big test and would raise eyebrows. Not to take away from out achievements this last 4 games, but there’s an element of fortune playing teams in and around the playoffs in bad form. Swansea and Watford in particular are in free fall.

The performances have been pleasing to watch and without 3 star players, is incredible all things considering.

I was talking to some Swansea fans on the train and they were gushing over how we played, their opinion is that we’ll make the playoffs “easy”. Compare that to WBA away when I overheard their fans say we looked “shite”.

You say there’s some fortune to play those teams at convenient times yet we have been without Wright for months, will have missed EMC and Sheaf for a month too. I didn’t think we were bad at West Brom either to be clear.

I think Leeds will have too much for us, they’re the standout side by some distance, but will be an interesting game anyway.

Their keeper did very well to keep him out yesterday along with a few others. On another day we score 3 or 4.

This is going to trigger a few but Bristol were the only form team of the four.

Swansea 23rd in the form table when we played them, Watford 20th, Blackburn 22nd. Bristol were 7th.

Look, I agree and just want to keep things in perspective. Norwich and WBA should’ve been draws really and they were both huge tests.

Missing the players we have been has been huge for us and our form doesn’t change that we’re missing 3 key players.

I've had exactly the same thoughts re FL getting poached by a Premier league club, hopefully he'll stay.
On the plus side though if he does go at some point at least DK and others will have a very good benchmark of the type of head coach required.

It’s just why I’d keep my powder dry on a playoff push. But sometimes you need a bit of luck in fixtures to build confidence. Hopefully it doesn’t get undone by the next two and we can start beating teams around us in the run after that.

You can only play what's in front of you. Beating them isn't the positive. The Manner of how we did is, in particular the clean sheets considering how we used to have to score three to win.

I reckon Lampard will view the job with us as a project. He’s been there and done that in the sense that he’s been fast tracked right to the top of the Prem and knows the fall can be brutal.

If he builds with us, gets us promoted and keeps us up as the likes of Howe and Frank did with Bournemouth and Brentford, his stock will be much, much higher.

That’s me being optimistic, he chose us as a club because there’s a genuine project to build on imo.

I think the Dovin penalty save was huge tbh. That and the switch to not playing out from the back and through the middle has made us a lot more solid. We’ve scored all season but constantly undermined ourselves with soft goals that we’ve stopped. Having a confident keeper and bypassing our midfield and defence and playing higher up the pitch has helped.

Just still to be seen how effective it is against teams playing well.
