Missed 2 of 3 friendlies. Underlying fitness issues, unsettled, transfer pending?

Frank seemed very dismissive, but said the same about Bassette - who clearly is being lined up to move on.

All 3 scenarios aren't ideal, we need him fully fit and firing if we're to challenge this year.

There's no way he's being 'rested'.

I genuinely think he felt something calf and wasn’t risked. He isn’t going to go now unless it’s 30m as we wouldn’t be able to find a replacement.

He is probably our best player so a no risk mentally is most likely the best move.

In this day and age there will have been at least one “credible” Twitter account posting a story if something were happening.

All we’ve got is Newcastle thinking he’s the best midfielder in the champ weeks ago.

Until then I’ll assume he’s not 100%

I'm pretty much certain he's not leaving now.

If he is being rested for an injury then it's certainly a concern right now on whether he's fit for the start of the season.

We look a completely different team without Rudoni's creative spark. Torp can provide it but only with Rudi and Grimes in the side.

Perhaps we won't play him until September 1st to keep the vultures away.

Dismissive? He said it's a knock and he is back training this week. People look for way more than they need to

Rudoni has looked good when he has played. Why risk your best player just before the season starts?

Pretty sure a massive part of the recruitment peoples job is succession planning. They will already have a list of possible and likely targets lined up in the event of all players going; even more likely to have this sorted with our better players who are more likely to move on.

In short, we would find a replacement. Whether they’re anywhere near as good is another discussion

Lampard said Rudoni felt something in his calf so they rested him. He said he'll be back in training Monday/Tuesday.

What he said about Bassette was totally different. He basically said his attitude isn't good enough. Sounds like he's sulking and not trying hard enough in training

Milan, Rudi and Sheaf will start against Hull, all were apparently off before we seen 1 picture of pre season..... Posters convinced we buy which will automatically means we sell, or we have to sell to buy.. The truth is we will do either if it improves the squad depth and quality.

Doug doesn't do what we as fans have been used too for the last 40 years. His business model is very clear, his aim has been clarified by himself in public a few times .That plan cant be done by having no control over your main assets at the club, which is the squad. He trusts FL to make improvements and will give him the support if needed.

I think he is very rigid with transfers but seems to know the market values very well. He also has the squad in a good place with contracts which keeps the control in the clubs hands. He must have the attitude of being prepared to walk away from any table, if you cant get what you want or at the value you are prepared to buy or sell then its time to walk. . Which is in my opinion the best attitude to have in negotiations. You should never walk towards something you cant walk away from it, otherwise you get desperate and make bad decisions. For us patience is key, as i believe we are in good hands with a good model to go forward.

Off to Newcastle and they paid for his box at the CBS yesterday. Binks is following Brondby on Insta.

If Rudi goes anywhere it will be on Doug's terms and be the best for the club. Not for below market value to pay an investor or the electric bill.

Non thread / story. He has small issue, didn’t take risk. They’ve all been worked very hard in pre season. All that’s in it.

Bassette now behind Obikwu in the pecking order! Doesn't look good for the lad here now. A permanent move would appear to be his best option, which is a pity, as he definitely has the talent to succeed.

I genuinely think he had a knock and wasn’t risked. But let’s face it, FL didn’t need to see him in another friendly he knows Rudoni is starting against Hull. I think it was more beneficial to give Torp, Andrews and Allen minutes and let FL have another look at what they can offer.

Funny you say we need him fully fit but say no way he is being rested due to a knock.

Not taking risk with him! Keeping him away from Hulls prying eyes as to how we are going to play with him on Saturday.

Lamps also said that Haji was injured in the US, while the yanks said he arrived crocked. I keep saying it but we never really know what's going on, even if we think we do!

We’ve very quickly gone from Rudi will never leave because he idolises Lampard to who won’t be here for the start of the season!

I think Hull have enough problems of their own.
That transfer umbongo is really hurting them.

Hahahahaha. Yeah, it's like he's gonna tell some needy stranger what he's planning for his career.

Here he is praising Lampard yet again but those with an agenda will still continue with low shots to try and make a point.

Jack Rudoni: Coventry City boss Frank Lampard a "joy" to work
