Scored 9 in 13 for Hartlepool in league1...
I think we should give him a chance, yes he was poor infront of goal yesterday but I'm sure he hit the bar and he Also got into some great positions! He must of have so much pressure put on to him by the cov fans!
I think he might be a potential final 10 minute sub to bring on some pace?

In fairness to him he made space for himself and linked up well with Sheffers. After he missed the first 1 on 1 tho I thought he lost a bit of confidence and as I mentioned in another post when he got in his position for goal he scored, he seemed to hesitate and took a while to get to the ball (for someone who does actually have a bit of pace, he looked to be taking his time to get to it; maybe that's just a fitness / first game thing). But saying that he found the net, and done the job that was asked of him.

I for one think everyone should be given a clean slate in this league. Look at the likes of Bell and Baker. I think they're made for this league and although I don't rate them, from a Championship level, I want to see what they can do at this level. Therefore I think the same should be said for ROD.

Here we go again scored against non league and he is our answer,,, he is nothing more than a squad player and a poor one at that.. I would give Jeffers, Wilson and Daniels ahead of him and i hope AT see him as a backward option.

Personally not for me, if ROD and Bell left the club tomorrow I would not be disappointed

I agree wit that but whilst they're at the club we may aswell pay them to do something other than turn up on a week day morning for half a days training hadn't we? Even if it's only throughout pre season. Dot wanna go burning out the players we will make use of through the season just because we don't rate certain players?

If them leaving, even on a free (ROD anyway as I wouldn't fancy the compo payment Bell would ask for for the next 4 years of his contract), meant bringing other players in, similar to the McPake deal, I'd go for that.

if you put his performance into perspective against non league opposition, he was in a one on one position a couple of times before he scored and looked sh*t scared,

ROD works really hard, has good movement, loves the club and is possibly our quickest player. The problem is that his movement and pace sometimes put him in good positions, and that's where his shortcoming strikes: a lack of composure. He's a confidence player, like Baker, and if he bags a goal early in the season he could go on a run like he did at The Monkey Hangers.

Don't think he is worth hanging onto, he has had long enough. Lose him, bring someone else in.

Given his age and lack of games we have to assume he is not good enough. In fact to me we are sti going into battle with a pop gun attack which was a big problem last year.

Was going to put a like against this post, until I realised I read it wrong and found you actually said ROD was 'confidence player' rather than ROD is Conference player.

He deserves another chance, "the benefit of the doubt". If he doesn't do anything in the first few games of the season, it will be time to get rid.

I'm with Grendel - the lack of matches in the last 6 years since his move to England tells me a lot. He couldn't even dislodge a kid from wolves out of the Hibs line up.
