I might be in a minority of one going by the comments I've seen, but I liked Sean Flynn.

So there.

Folks.......

I've just read all 12 pages of this thread, not once has someone posted a link saying it's true or even a link to a rumour seen somewhere.

I think someone's having a laugh at our expenses. The whole Drago thing comes to mind ...

I liked him too!

Then again, I always felt Julian Darby added something to the team, so what do I know!

I always liked Paul Telfer.

Surely the CCFC fan "he's a trier" rule should apply with Flynn?

tbf, the OP deserves a lengthy thread just for coming up with a more imaginative rumour than the usual.

It's amazing how many people are deriding this signing--( if it's true). It appears he knows where the goal is and loves scoring.
He might fail miserably BUT he might be the next Clarie Bourton, give him a chance I say.

Jamie Vardy was snapped up though to Halifax town, then he was snapped up to Fleetwood Town, then he was snapped up by leicester, this situation is more like him going straight from steelwood park series straight to leicester without any other teams in between thinking he was worth a punt.

We shouldn't slag off a player without seeing him play, im sure there are players at that level that could make the step up, but if thats the level we are looking at for players we are in real trouble.

League one is clubs ranked 45-68. Level 8 are clubs ranked 233-368 It's a massive massive difference between us and Guernsey, even with them doing well last year and us struggling..

Is it possible that we've spotted a gem who can be a strong player in league one even though no league two, or conference teams have felt him worth a go? of course it is. It is however much more likely that we are simply not able to attract or pay for people of a level required to do well in this league as things stand. We have to take on desperate people or massive long shots, could they come off sure, the vast majority of the time though they won't.

Difference is Vardy lived on the mainland. Guernsey were only formed 3 years ago so Allen only been in the pyramid for 3 years. It's not so easy to just quit your job on the channel islands and leave for another non league club higher up the pyramid but still don't pay you a liveable wage.

Will nip on the Guernsey forum to see if any sign of this. Plenty of video of the lad if anyone wants to actually research before writing him off.

I'm on an island. The Isle of Wight. It's part of the UNITED KINGDOM, not Great Britain. GB is a term used more for sporting events these days. Politically and geographically, it's called United Kingdom. Just thought I'd mention it, like.

Worked hard had a great motor.
Ran round like a headless chicken a lot of the time.
This was because he was tactically unaware making his timing and positioning wrong. A lot of his hard work was recovery from being out of position.

Trevor Peake and Paul McGrath are two examples of players who never seemed to do that much running, because they read the game and always just seemed to be in the right position to squeeze out the opponent.

It is like the keeper who always just seems to be behind the ball and catching it, rather than diving all over the place....right place right time. Move when you have to, press at the right moment...stand off the rest of the time (key difference between watching Premier League and the other divisions).

Impressive diagram Shmeee. Just one point of order: Take it from me, the Irishthemselves never desrcibe the country as being part of the British Isles, even geopraphically.

Where you get that from? An old colonial map? Ireland is Eire for a start and UK is related to the monarchy not to do with land. Other than that its marvellous.

I know he didn't play for us, but did get signed from Nuneaton Borough but Malcolm Christie did really well and if not for injuries there was talk of him getting in the England squad

Excellent Venn diagram that explains the differences between England, Great Britain and the United Kingdom ("Great" means "large" by the way it's not trying to be a boastful name meaning "fantastic").

The only prob with the Venn is that Ireland (the Republic of) don't call the overall islands "British Isles" because they left the UK 90 years ago and the term annoys them.

But, rightly, we don't call it Eire. We call it Ireland. Just like we don't call Germany Deutchland. Or Italy Italia.

We might have got slightly off topic...
