I think we should offer Rose a new contract, it'd be risky not to given we have only one other contracted centre back. There are elements of his game which can be better but he's another one who gets a lot of unfair criticism imo.

The current squad has got us to 3 points off the play offs.
There's plenty of them who'll be fine if we want to progress, what they need is supplementing with another 3 or 4 quality players.
We're never going to be able to compete with the parachute payment teams so realistically we're aiming for 5th or 6th place and we're not too far away.
Which is why I said serious about progressing, which would mean the aim would be going for automatic promotion rather than the play-offs.That's probably a bit over the top if we've managed to get to 8th. I don't think we'd be in the playoff hunt if we had 15 sub standard players.
If we want to push for autos then yeah there's probably 5 or so players good enough for that, and we'd need some quality additions in the first XI.

With a basement budget he’s got us into mid table at least. With a mid table or even just lower half budget I have no doubt we’d be in play off contention.That's pretty unrealistic though on our crowds and trying to compete with parachute payments.
I'm sure Robins is trying to get us as high up the league as we can but if we start trying to compete with the relegated teams in terms of wages we'll get ourselves in trouble.
That's not to say Robins couldn't have been backed more, he should have been, let's hope King has a plan to do that.
We've got a gap: Panzo, Doyle and McNally are not ours. It'd be silly to release one of only two substantive centre backs when we don't even have enough on the books to play our preferred formation, especially one that's proved to be up to this level.
