I think Rose just seems to take an age to get into the swing of things and then inevitably gets an injury or something by the time he gets going.
If the plan is for him to take over from Hyam then I think we're just going to have to accept a few mistakes from him and persevere until he gets into the swing.
Couple years ago I’d have agreed with you but he just hasn’t had the game time.I actually think Rose has more potential than Hyam despite clearly being less solid at present. I liked Hyam but is certainly better on the ball (minus mistakes), more mobile and more of a threat in the oppo box.
As others have said with more game time at this level he could easily step up. Would also give more balance in a back 3 than Hyam as he has more similar attributes to Panzo and Doyle on the left IMO.
The main issue in the second goal was less him giving it away but more his failure to recognise the runner.Never rated Rose way way too many cock ups in him, his pass straight to the opposition which led to their second goal was shocking but there again everyone was at it giving the ball away even Rodris done it a couple of times for Man City
