Usually you'd say hell no, but if he turns them into Champions' League winners for a couple of seasons, then he's done his job.

Not really, this is why the big clubs get hundreds of millions per year from the kit supplier.

They get that anyway though, whoever they sign, then the vast majority of cash from shirt sales goes to the manufacturer.

No because it’s based on potential sales hence the bigger players you get in the bigger pot then sales on top of that

Most of the shirt sales are 'fakes' from the markets. It's a hell of a lot if he picks up an injury. Interesting to see how they fund it - FFP and all that.

I think there have been serial cases of financial misdemeanours in Italian football .
While just having a scan I see AC have been banned from taking part in the Europa league this coming season.
Seems related to a recent Chinese takeover and the guys done it partly in the Glazier style of MU ,not sure If that leveraged debt is the cause or some other non compliance.

Juventus were done as part of the Calciopoli thing in 2006 and I think they've kept their nose clean since. They were supposed to get relegated and be docked a shedload of points along with Lazio and Fiorentina, but only Juve went down after appeal and they all managed to get fewer points docked.

I think this move is worthwhile for them. Ronaldo seems to have incredible conditioning so I'm not sure his age will be a great factor, they get the obvious profile raise and whatever commercial nonsense comes with it, and at this point £88m doesn't seem that much any more when you place it relative to other transfers. They'll most likely rake most of the cash back by selling Higuain in the next few weeks too

I think he's incredible
But when he finally has to hang up his boots will be heart broken,.
Of course he will find new avenues and projects to fullfil no doubt ,and nothing to regret, but a difficult day when it comes none the less.

I suppose comparisons could be drawn between the recent developments within Fiat and the birth of Fiat/Chrysler and the desire of Juve to rejoin the top table of European football.
Success in Serie A is virtually a given and I wouldn't be surprised to see Ronaldo lifting the Champions League cup next May.
