Not necessarily, we've been chasing him since the end of last season, Brighton said they wanted to have a closer look at him before making a decision, and activated their 1year option on him, which prevented him from walking away on a free.
Osti has publicly stated that he wants first team games and wont spend the next season on the bench.
So the ball is in Brightons court!
If he goes out on loan again he will be a free agent at the end of it, so he will go for nothing, so it would make sence for Brighton to sell him now, which could start a bidding war as other teams are monitoring the situation.

Reading that, it does sound like his ‘long term target’ would be Osti. It also reads like Brighton want him to sign a long term deal before loaning him out. The Athletic reporter for BHA seemed to think that was our ‘most likely outcome’ if we were to sign Osti.
From MR’s comments he views Bushiri as a developmental piece.

Andy Turner live just said Robins long term target isn’t Leo. He hasn’t made contact with him this summer. However, if he is available for loan and wants to come here then Robins would be interested.
Also reckons a CM on loan is wanted.

Not necessarily, we had 6 loans at its peak last season.
Realistically, we were always going to have at least 2 loan players, and ideally you want loanees to be starting quality.
Recruitment undoubtedly has been difficult this off-season but I’m fairly confident we’ve done alright.

Brighton have this tidy young centre half called Van Hecke who has been quite decent on loan in the Eredivise, maintaining an average match rating of 6.96 with 2324 minutes played. Same age as Ostigard, reckon if MR can’t get Osti back he could contact them for Van Hecke? Don’t see it happening but it’s a shout.

doubt Monaco would loan him out to us, already done quite well at Dijon so there’s no need for them to loan him to a foreign league.
