Robinson is just upset that he's a bit old to fall back on being a gigolo to old Belgian widows nowadays.

Because if it wasn't for Richardson we wouldn't be in the position we are, that's why?! FFS.

I tend to agree. While Robinson isn't top of my Christmas Card list at least he did put money in to the club. Richardson took it out. A lot if it.

CCFC Finance Director

Just to clear up a couple of points

When I said all directors I meant ALL directors that have been on the Board of CCFC. You cant be a director and absolve yourself from the joint and several liability arising from the decisions made. ALL contribute, it is only the level of contribution that is debateable. Yes some resigned but I dont think one has resigned because the club was and is living beyond its means due to the Board decisions made, their resignation is usually much more personal (some would say the reasons were egotistical perhaps?)

I dont argue that making loans shouldnt mean getting interest back in return shmmee I think you miss the point. The point is had this club in particular (but sadly like many other teams) been managed properly in the first place then those loans would not have been necessary so interest would have been irrelevant. The interest might have been at a reasonable rate but was required due to the ineptitude in managing the club by the very people making the loan. Everyone looks at how good were these people in lending the money - no one asks actually why did they have to in the first place? Also the size and nature of the loans gave the individuals concerned greater control and power within the Board & Club - makes them more responsible for the mess at the club not less.

I am sure GR comes over as a nice guy, have met a couple of times very briefly and he does. However the cynic in me says he is a skilled people operator - its his job to be he is after all a very successful politician!

Bottom line is the directors (all directors) have gambled with the club, made decisions they would not have done in their own businesses etc, made a choice to do so and put the fans club at great risk. I have no evidence that they were anything but honest decisions, but it is clear they were not good decisions. It isnt really about who put what in and if they lost it - it is about the diligence, prudence and care they used in leading the club. They each need to look honestly at themselves and ask did I make CCFC succeed, did I put CCFC at risk ? I cannot think of many/any that could answer YES and NO to those questions - or how anyone can argue the correct answers each director would arrive at are not NO and YES

Anyone slagging on Robinson hasn't a bloody clue. Guy wouldn't do anything to make a £ out of CCFC and he wouldn't turn the club over at any stage.

In my opinion he deserves nothing but credit in what he did for the club and invested in the club by millions. Not chicken feed but millions of his own money and wrote it off to help the club move forward and then was turned over by SISU and there shamful ethics.

God I wish the guy was in charge now. Give the bloke a fucking break will some of you.

This is the worst thing I have ever read on these boards and thats saying something.

How short are some fans memories? Why do people conviniently forget just how bad a position we were in prior to SISU's takeover. A position that can be attributed to the board Geoffrey Robinson was a major part of.

Who cares if he was a Coventry fan? If Ian Huntley was a Coventry fan, I wouldn't have him babysitting my children!

OSB - as usual you are spot on - with the dawn of the Greediship Richardson, Robinson, McGinnity and their poodle Hover saw an opportunity to make a lot of money for themselves and were prepared to risk the future of the club to line their own pockets. I have no problem with anyone making a fair return on their investment but its the level of risk that they are willing to take to achieve their return that I question and the Triumvirate of Crapulence went way beyond what was acceptable. For Robinson to now go bleating on about how hard done he has been is pathetic, he made his money by "charming" and endowing with lucrative contracts certain rich Belgian widows and then a string of questionable business deals so I have absolutely no sympathy for the creep. He is a charmer in person, thats how he has survived for so long in business and politics - anyone who wants to find out about the real GR I urge you to read The Paymaster by Tom Bower, lots of accusations and no denials or law suits from GR say a lot. SISU inherited a pile of shit that was left behind but have done little to improve the situation in 4 years and are now acting like rats scurrying off a sinking ship, but one that they are prepared to sink just to minimize their losses. RR, Elliott and Hoff are all culpable but at least. allegedly, RR and Hoff resigned or tried to on matters of principle when they saw the way the land was lying with SISU. Elliott is more culpable in my eyes as he paints himself as Mr Coventry, yet has been party to some of the worst management of the club over the past 20 years. They are all guilty but its GR who is claiming how hard done he has been and its just a pile of horseshit that Dulieu would be proud off.
