I think they do, when things are going well and / or we have control of a game. As soon as those things aren't true, no one on the pitch besides Sheaf take responsibility for working through that phase of a game. I feel like that's the fundamental issue.

She's put in place what's needed to support the players and staff. More coaches, better facilities, depth we've never had in most positions, removed a reliance on loans. It's down to them to deliver.

Too soon to say if she's recruited the right people. She can't turn the mentality of the midfielders around. If we had one or two players in that position willing to take responsibility in-game we'd be flying.

We really need to get a grip here. Yes, we’ve spent £45m. It’s peanuts for a squad nowadays. We’ve spent it because the squad Robins assembled previously contained some fantastic finds. We’ve played 4 games and lost two. I’m sorry but to try and bracket the Norwich game as any sort of “worst ever” anything is pure madness. We’re a bit disjointed and rusty. Some huge over reactions.

Just like I said earlier, in another thread. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". I thought the change of structure at the top was wrong, and AV's going was weird.
I got taken to account by that. It still stands though. No last second Haji goal against Oxford then:
P:4 W:0 D:2 L:2
I now believe Robins will go by Xmas. Not because he will be sacked. But simply because he hasn't got a Offsider yet, and he will reasonably think he can't do this stupid 3/5 top six in the next what have you seasons on his own. He will just FO and we will realise after what a great manager we had.
Even we are starting to believe the impossible that King pushed on Robins. It's insane.
It was pathetic by King and pathetic by us to expect everything at once.

We’ve spent 45m - the targets are not impossible whatsoever. Top 6 is a progressive target and attainable.

2 years ago Sunderland, Ourselves and Luton didn’t spend anywhere near that and made the play offs.

Just because you’re happy to just be here doesn’t mean the rest of us are. We want to keep progressing. Robins has a target - he’s been given the tools to reach it. He isn’t walking out on a 4 year contract either

You obviously think money buys anything. And. of course, it doesn't.
You could buy 11 of the best players in the world, but it doesn't make a team does it. If you even thought that, then you lose your own argument. Because, in your world, we wouldn't need a manager anyway.

It doesn’t buy anything but it buys better players, but then it would be the manager’s job to get the better players to work together. If he can’t do that he’s not doing his job correctly

With 45m spent - the expectation with that goes up. We’re not shopping around in the odds and sods anymore. the players are better.

it’s a little more nuanced than that, as you know.

but typically enough SBT lurches to a black or white sensationalist question.

Well if he’s good enough he can take a 45m squad and get them in play offs. I wouldn’t take more than 5 other teams squads in this league.

individual players yes but not squads

I agree on the squad, more than good enough despite being left short in midfield. Think Matty James would actually help settle that down a lot and should be easy to do, so lets see what happens.

Let’s be honest, we’ve spent a fortune in the squad. Given the manager more tools behind the scenes than he’s ever had in regards to coaches and the training facilities . If he could get the 22/23 squad to the play offs he should be getting this one too.

If not then surely, it’s a failure regardless of what that means whether he gets another couple of years (assuming next year is another rebuild) or we go in another direction.

Honestly there’s always been two questions around Robins;”: can he do it without Viveash and can he do it at a higher level with more money. Both are tested this year.

With timescales being what they are, if we fall well short again this year, and with the likely sales in the summer, I think it would make more sense to give the rebuild job to a new manager. Big if though. I’ve got faith he can turn it around. But turn it around he must.

To be honest while I don’t robins going anywhere would be fascinated to see who we’d want in as the new manager. Imagine it would be given to a young manager

Sort of with you mate. He needs to show up if he decides to go on his own. But his other option is probably easier, given his reputation. He just won't have to wait for a good job.

I honestly think he loves Coventry, simply because he came back when he did. He has always spoken of affection toward the club. I think he will stick it out, and wait for a decent left hand man to give him a hand.

To make the playoffs 3 times out of 5 is very challenging for any club without parachute payments. It's essential to have targets in any job but they have to be realistically achievable.
If we were to achieve 3 out of 5 but not get promoted would that then be viewed as failure?
It ultimately depends on MR's relationship with Doug, but I wouldn't be surprised if he decides himself to go at some point in this or next season.

While agreeing with some of your points bringing imaginary scenarios where Wright doesn't score against Oxford is ridiculous.
You could just as easily say if Asante had buried that late chance against Stoke.

I'll be waiting for philosoraptor to come up with the co-efficient for success, it will involve the theory of relativity, and a few other tangential bits, every one has strengthened, some are at the other end of the cycle!
We are in the end of this particular cycle, possibly/probably or not depending on your loyalties!!
