Went after talks with SISU produced no guarantees. Robins may also have said he would wait if he could be assured that on promtion they would match a new contract similar to what Huddersfield had now offered. Those assurances were not met by SISU. Reports suggest he has more than quadrupled his salary! So it was a big ask but then again what the hell was he on? Doubt he was even on a 100k then in the first place?
Also no assurances about the outcome of the rent negotiations and ongoing situation there.

Now he may well of stayed given some assurances and a promise of a new contract at a higher level seems to be what he is saying. But the temptation to go a league higher and for 4 times more salary and a budget to burn is a hard one to turn down. He didn't court another club, he was approached and not for the first time. SISU could have deflected that after the first couple of approaches and given him a new deal and even changed the release clause in their favour! They didn't. Or I should say Fisher didn't.

For me and the news that rent negotiations have callapsed it does seem that while they have backed and done well in recent times they still managed to shoot themselves in the foot again big time. They should have seen it coming and have said they had many approaches for his services. The nievity of the people at the helm who clearly don't understand or differentiate between running a football club and a business can be seen by anyone.
They will compound that now by appointing from within till the end of the season. Look what happened last time doing that?!
What they should do is shake it off quickly, show some balls, show some character and get a new man in immediately. That would regalvanise the club and players immediately and help consign this 'shock' to the bin and forgotten rapidly by Saturday.

Lets just see what they do.

Why does Robins mentions the council? I think that's merely a deflection from him. He knows that they could give better support but he also knows that it's not up to the council to be bank rolling a football club. The reality is he's just refering to the conditions he worked within as seen from SISU's point of view. It kind of softens the blow from a supporters view.

It's a real shame he walked away at this vital point with so much going for the club but that offer is one he would have been wrong to turn down tbf. I only wish him well and thank him for what he has achieved in a short time. Our club is in far better shape right now on the playing side with wide open opportunities to achieve something this season.

That needs a proper manager immediately to calm the place down and keep our focus.

I'd even accept say, Grayson or similar until the end of the season. I would not risk appointment from within even though I do rate Carsley but not in this current situation.

If Fisher wants credibility he must act fast and appoint with two firm fingers firmly pointed at Robins departure like it means nothing. Show we can't be ruffled and show it to the players on the cusp of the playoffs. Most importantly to the supporters. Grow some and get it done.

CCFC is refering to my earlier assumption months ago, when I said we would be there or there abouts the top six come January. I was right.
Still in and around there and all to play for. 46 games in this league remember. I think it now all hangs on Fisher and what he does next as I alluded to in the comments above...

Yep 7 points behind and still everyone has a game in hand, if we are there abouts I guess that everyone down to Crawley in 15th can consider themselves there abouts also

You said first we would be in the top 6 come January then backtracked to there abouts when we were slipping up vs Scunthorpe/Pompy etc.

I'm just pissed off at the last few days events so don't take no notice of my sniping
