Coventry City manager Mark Robins believes his side were unlucky not to get anything from the game against Notts County.*

Goals from Andre Boucard and Yoann Arquin secured the three points for the visitors despite Richard Wood’s late reply.

County remain unbeaten for 14 league games away from home after beating the Sky Blues 2-1 at the Ricoh Arena, and Robins was confident that they could have been the ones to stop the unbeaten run.

“It is a game that has passed us by where we could have and should have taken the points,” said Robins.*

“We were always in the game at 1-0, and if we would have got it back to 1-1 I fancied us to win it. In all fairness I fancied us to go and get the equaliser as well, but I have got to look at the positives to utilise.”

The manager also bemoaned his sides defending after two strikes from outside the area ended the Sky Blues five game unbeaten run.

Robins said: “We gave them two sloppy goals. They have taken them well, but they never should have gone in the net, we should have dealt with it. We had two bites of the cherry to deal with it – and it killed us.”

Despite putting the Magpies on the back-foot for most of the second half, Robins has urged his team to play with more adventure if they want to turn their season around.*

“Our style of play is evolving over time,” he added. “Anxiety may find its way onto the pitch but we have got to be bigger than that, better than that. We have to be positive and the players haven’t been adventurous enough. We have passed it OK recently, but it is not quite fluid enough.”

Coventry are back in league action against Brentford at Griffin Park on Tuesday, 7.45 kick-off.

No there was more than one moment for the fans to get excited about, didn't need to watch the game while the 3-4 guys were trying to drape the shirt over the seats. Comedy at its best, should have their own show!

Can't remember what Boothroyd said. I assume you mean real managers - not clueless charlatans pretending to be such?

8 points from 6 games, ok not great. If we had won today it would have made a huge difference imo

Andy Thorn got pilloried for saying EXACTLY the same kind of stuff after games. Now Robins is "saying what we are all thinking". Funny how that works, isn't it?

Responsibility ! Today both goals would have been avoided IF one player had took Responsibility we wouldnt have conceded either of them! It seemed to me every player thought closing down was some one elses Responsibility and as a result we conceded 2 goals from players who had ago from 25 yards! Were Notts County a good side??? Not really although its amazing what organisation and pace can do to a side! We lack both!!!

The problem is at the moment we are still finding out how to win, we are also confussed in the way to play in League 1! One week we really do well and look a really decent side, the next we don't turn up!

Thorns legacy has crippled us, and the Fact he was given the chance to start this season has killed it off already really which is very disappointing! Robins will get it right but it may take a while yet and maybe we wont see our true side till after the January transfer window!

I'm all for backing Robins and giving him time, he has made a decent start not a great one. What gets me is when people say we have got a young version of Alex Ferguson or they say how great a visionary he is and how we are lucky to have him after every comment he makes

Don't start Robins!!
We had a couple of decent chances in the first half but we lost the game because we aren't good enough!

Allegedly they normally achieve 65% away from home ,Linnel bigged us up for taking 15% out of them ,then did the usual i'm right and you're all wrong routine when most texts said we were garbage.

dont be annoyed pal.

its what will happen, its not like me saying it will make it happen, take a look at the last 10 yeras of ccfc..

i could say Robins is on the cusp of turning this club back into a Permier League force if you wish ?

The ccfc revolving door suggests he has 10 months and we are currently in the drop zone.

History doesn't suggest that. Even the worst manager for 100 years lasted 18 months.

Yawn all you like but your forecast is based on what? Dowie, Coleman, Adams and Thorn all lasted longer. Only Boothrooyd didn't. So why in your view will Robing be given less time than all the above?

Not really...you could take 20 potshots from the halfway line - that's 20 shots, and any of those on target will be classed as "shots on target". Yes we could have bagged 1 or 2 before half time but overall it was another poor performance.....are you suggesting it wasn't? we lack quality all over the pitch - we don't take enough of our chances and concede too many easy chances....exactly like that 10 game analysis said - Attack energetically wasteful and Defensive pushovers. We've scored 13 goals in 13 games and conceded 20

One defeat and the negativity comes through, some of our 'fans' don't deserve success

There probably wouldn't be so much negatively if the fans/poster hadn't unrealistically raised their expectations based on 1 good week of results. I still can't believe that a handful of posters suggested automatic promotion was still on the cards...
