If Luton had managed to shut up shop instead of conceding 3 goals then I’m sure many wouldn’t be talking about polls and sackings as “total garbage”. It’s very fine margins but there’s a reason so many people are/were disgruntled before the Luton game. We’ve played one decent game in the last 8/9 where we’ve shown some fight, I hope we continue like this but personally I’m still on the fence about Robins.

One decent game doesn’t automatically excuse the team/management for the woeful shite we’ve had to endure beforehand. If we see a big turnaround in form and play with more courage and intelligence, as per yesterday, then I’m sure the whole fanbase will be fully behind Robins.

So we can’t discount the season so far and robins knows the start hasn’t been great.

But yesterday elevated a lot of my concerns if honest. We still struggled to finish and defence at times were abit lucky. Dovin did great to keep us in it.

However that team reminded of what Mark Robins teams are all about, Quick short passing, spreading it to the wings, being patient in attack and brave in possession.

The team fought for each other, the fans and Mark.

They now need to keep showing that belief and the rest will come.

Think it’s easy to say lucky but how many of us were cringing when we saw the line up, the man knows football. I have been critical and will hold my hands up every day of the week for shit I get wrong.

Mark Robins was perfect tactically yesterday. Long may he reign

Yeah, there was so much criticism at the line-up. I was fine with it at the time, but that's not the point. The point is that people were completely writing it off before a ball was even kicked in anger.

It's fine to doubt it, but some were more or less saying that Robins was clueless, lost the plot and insane.

I have no problem with reasoning, but a lot of stuff on here seems to be completely without rational thought.

And I know I am watching a different game when someone posts that Eccles is League 2 standard.

That is literally insane.

Then on the other hand of course, you have a selection of the following coming out because we've had a bad start...

We've spunked £45 on shit.
Recruitment team out (Robins has nothing to do with recruitment.)
Coaching team out (Robins had nothing to do with selecting coaching team.)
King out.
The club is rotten to the core.

Think a few could learn the lessons they are trying to teach to be honest.
Maybe we can all learn something from this?
Maybe that would be boring and SBT traffic is driven by arguments and hyperbole?

Let the people decide.

I think we can all see what the team are capable of , we all know now the players are playing for him and the club and he hasn't lost the dressing room .

I think we need to lose this robins out tension and get back to just supporting the team and what went right or wrong without demanding everybody lose their job

I had my concerns yesterday over how the crowd would turn at 0-2, safe to say that most people saw that what was going on out on the pitch was at odds with the scoreline and kept behind the team.

That seems to be what this group needs, and it is hard when the performances are flat, but maybe crowds need to ‘fake it till they make it’ with these players and vocally back them no matter how bad the game is going.

Thought there were some dynamics on the bench yesterday in terms of the coaching staff. Maybe they are settling in a bit as well as the new players.

The line up didn’t work in the first half.

In fact it didn’t work until Sakamoto was replaced

We conceded two goals and other than a couple of routine saves and a shot wide from sheaf we didn’t look like we’d score. In fact Dovin also made two reasonable saves.

Without the subs we’d have lost

You think Sakamoto giving away a penalty had anything to do with the formation? He is always coming back to help out the defence.

It was working. It just worked better when Rudoni came on.

We were close to scoring on a number of occasions in that first half. I would watch the game back if I was you.

The 2-0 scoreline was not a reflection of the way the game went.

We deserved to be at least level in that first half

We did indeed.

Sky were saying how the score didn't reflect the true picture and that we had played really well and should have been at least level

Without the changes we’d have lost.

Also I think it was the second goal - just before that he was bringing on Mason Clarke - which was reversed.

This is tedious.

Without the changes we’d have lost. You can’t dominate and be two down.

Rudoni was a wild card selection after the Kitching nonsense clearly didn’t work. Randomly he and Binks seemed to then totally dominate the left hand side and Luton - who had defended well in the first half - were pushed back and back. They were no longer a threat - that they clearly were in the first half.

Sakamoto doesn’t defend in the box as a wide player and his role in their second goal was just bewildering.

This is probably the first game we’ve played wright and simms together as a front two all season. Wright also has not featured anywhere near enough.

We wouldn’t have scored without the changes.

Of course you can dominate a game and be 2 goals down.

You seem awfully keen to pick fault in what was probably our best performance of the season.

Sad you weren't able to bump the taxi thread?

It's a difficult one tbh mate, the lineup changes so frequently I have no idea. But given the second half yesterday was as good as we've seen for quite some time I think there's an argument for going with that team. In which case Rudoni is in the team too, just not in the position he was purchased for.

Luton were efficient and had a cutting edge at times in the first half but we were more dominant in terms of possession and chances created. The pen was a stonewall and their second was brutally simple.

The game changed in the second half because Luton tried to sit on the lead. They ended up so deep, they rarely even committed to counter attacks. This basically gave us acres of space.

Yes the subs were effective, especially Rudoni but the game was different in terms of us pressing forward constantly, Luton getting deeer and us having more time and space on the ball in defensive and wide areas.

After we made the breakthrough with Simms, there was only one team going on to win that game.

The absolute joy showing after the third, the willingness/desire to share it with the fans was beautiful to see.

Apropos of nothing, I'm loving being in safe standing. So much more exciting than block 25.

We were the better side in both halves, not just the second. The difference is in the second we took 3 chances but in the first took none.

Seems clear to me what the week’s training should focus on.
